That’s not the issue. Maps Auto Update is for when you have a series of maps, like you can get from zyGRIB, that are date stamped and saved in Data\Campaign\Save\WeatherMapsUpdates. But I did check it as you suggested and it made no difference.
Hope to get more help to explain why I get clouds when it should be sunny with no clouds.

@jc1:
Hey Mav, I hope you don’t have to pay up, but instead can show me what I did wrong.
WC background
WC Fair-02.FMAP
BMS Fair-02.FMAP loaded
BMS Clouds
To SP3, clouds at 1000 foot base
To SP4, clouds at 1000 foot base
To SP5, clouds at 1000 foot base, but it should be sunny with no clouds.i just tested it locally here, no problem

Mav, I’m still counting on your guarantee:)
The TE is the original Training File, TR433_02 Navigation. Here are my .trn and .twx and .fmap -
OK
i opened your two files
TRN433_02_Navigation and BMS-Fair-02
Sorry but the whole flight plan is in the sunny area …
look :
i dont know what you are doing with WC as you as i dont know how to display the flight plan in WC,
anyway in game, it is clear the flight plan is NOT in the area where you painted sunny.
i dont know how you are displaying the Flight plan in WC though….you may do it manually by doing your own png ? maybe this is your mistake as seeing you picture in WC, it seems you background is very wrong size / scale

Hey Mav, you were absolutely right that my background was the wrong size/scale. So I redid my background and compared it to the WC BMS background. They are sized/scaled the same:
my background
BMS backgroundHere’s theFair02-Modified.fmap using my new background clearly showing the sunny skies in my flight path between SP4 and SP5.
Here’s what the view used to look like 20 miles from SP5 when I had the wrong scale background.
Here’s the view with my new background and Fair02-Modified.fmap, 20 miles from SP5. Sunny, no clouds. Thanks a lot, Mav.
By the way, here’s a picture of my background, and the steps to get the background. I think its useful to have a background that shows your flight plan because it makes it easier to paint the fmap on it.
1. Start Weapon Delivery Planner (WDP) and select the mission that has the flight plan you’re interested in.
2. In WDP select the Map tab, and scroll the map to display the full Korea theatre, including your flight plan.
3. I used a tool called Print-key Pro to capture on screen the WDP Map tab at full Korea theatre display.
4. Use Print-key Pro to cut the map out of the screen capture.
5. Use Print-key Pro to resize the cut map to 2048x2048, the size required by WC.
6. Use Print-Key Pro save the file with png extension. This file can then be used in WC as the background for the fmap. -
Why don’t you just browse the WDP directory?
You can just grab the map from there, also the white maps.
No need to scale them.ps. The whitemaps in WDP are made to look like RL sigwx charts.

Hey Falcas, the reason I can’t use the white map in the WDP Maps directory is that it does not have the flight plan on it.
Edit:
And the map in the Datacards directory is the wrong scale. That’s the map I used originally and Mav-jp explained that it was a scaling problem that was causing my problems in WC with the clouds. -

Load your mission and go to the map tab. Use the zoom to make the full map visible. Than click on the “Save Map” button and save the picture are PNG.
Some maps will be saved a 4096x4096, which are also good for WC.Gr Falcas

Thanks Falcas, That does it.:D Hope Mav-jp sees your answer because he wondered how to get the flight plan on the fmap. He placed his bet on your WC and won . What a great combination of WDP and WC!

I didn’t know. Now I can’t wait to see what’s new in 3-4 weeks from you, Falcas and the rest of the BMS development team. You guys make this flight sim world a better place. Thanks a lot.
