Small ones one runway, large ones the other?
-
Hi,
I´m wondering if it is possible to force (for a two runways air base) the small a/c´s to start from one runway and the large ones from the other, e.g. the small ones from 20R and the large ones from 20L.

AFAIK, no. Every airbase has a single taxiway defined to the runway. On this taxiway, every ‘steerpoint’ is numerical, and must be in order from furthest parking spot to runway threshold (1 to n). AI can only follow the steerpoints up, so this taxiway must pass along every parking spot on the base if you don’t want AI to freak out. As a result, (at the moment) there is no way to create a point where a single taxiway can split into 2; or 2 join into 1, if you’re coming the other way.
What you could try is creating two separate taxiways: one where you link only the large parking spots to runway 1, and another where you link the small parking spots to runway 2, but I’m fairly certain it wouldn’t work.

Hi,
I think it isn´t working.
All my “hundred” B1-B and C-130 are taxiing from the last taxi point (without any LargeParkPoint in that RunwayListType). But I know that this can happen (starts on both runways). I´ve sawn this in a TE (IIRC Suwon and B1-B´s and RC-135) …
I´ve also sawn this in my currently test TE (for Seosan), but that was a two ship of F-16´s which was starting from the other runway and happend only one time. -
Hi,
I couldn’t find peace of mind.
So far so good…
Ok…
Oh yes…
Take off!
And the other one of that flight…
This flight is in the air…
Next one please…
No more stucks and squeezes!
Tomorrow I will have another try with the other runway too…Regards

Ok,
(I think) I got it!
I inserted taxi points before 70 and set “Take runway” and “Take off” (a second time)
You see here the “last” taxi point of the large ones.
But this is so not really good working, because they all “overrun themselves” at the last part of the taxi way…The solution is to root, like e.g. from here, from 77 to 13 (13 is last taxi point of the small ones before the crossing)…
And so it looks like, the B1-B is waiting before the crossing…
And keeps on taxiing after the taxiway is free again…
I tested it now several times and everytime all went fine.

errr maybe luck cause they had to take off from 01?
and when you say root 77 to 13 what do you mean?

Of course, I couldn´t get them take two runways. Runway 01 isn´t possible because they have order to take runway 00! They always “travel” back to “Take off point” of 00…
But, with this solution you will never ever have any stucks while the large ones want to pass some other a/c´s!“Set root” means for the F4-BMS-Editor (where you define X-, Y-coordinates). There is a field “LDX Root” (or so)…
This sets the taxi route to/from this point (again). (I cannot explain this so good in English.)
Have a look at the pictures from posting #5, pic #2! You can see the root in the red line (in this case from 77 to 13), means 77 is the taxi point of the large ones, and 13 is the crossing to to taxi way of the small ones. And in this root field you type in 13. So you will have rooted the large ones taxi way to that of the small ones. (It is hard for me to explain correctly in English.)I tried several times with 4 flights small ones and 6 flights large ones. No stucks, complitly in order.

ok nice find.
But what I’m saying is that as the dev’s said (IIRC) the take off actually is ordered by the wind. So maybe this overrides your procedure. -

But what I’m saying is that as the dev’s said (IIRC) the take off actually is ordered by the wind. So maybe this overrides your procedure. This needs of course the “same” for each take off side. But this is not the problem anymore!
The important thing is: No stucks anymore with large a/c´s!I´m now on Win-7, but made a small video, which I will upload later if I´m back on my GNU/Linux. There you can see the procedure…

 nice… A BenyHill sound in the background and it will become viral…

This looks impressive to have different category airplanes have different taxi paths. I hope that deconflict is working properly and airplanes on one path will see and avoid airplanes on another.
