Custom Axis Shaping for TUSBA-R1
-
Hi,
I use Warthog Joystick & Cougar Throttle connecting to the PC through the TUSBA R1 which does not have any driver software to set an axis deadzone.
Now my cougar has a malfunction on its microstick. It gets misalignment during flight.
I always calibrate TUSBA R1 before flight BMS so first several minutes the ministick works fine that it keeps holding radar cursor position when I release my thumb from it.
However, after another several minutes of flight, it gets misalignment again and radar cursor starts to keep slight moving to the right(sometimes to the left) even though I’m not touching it.In the Advanced setting menu I set Radar Cursor axis deadzone to “LARGE”, But I guess I need more wide deadzone.
So I would like to use Custom Axis Shaping, and have some questions about it.
1.What is an external application which supplies axis ‘shape’ setting file? I searched for it but could not find it.
2.Could it be possible to remain BMS built in joystick curves and apply custom deadzone only to the Cougar-TUSBA microstick? -
The ‘stop cursor movement’ command won’t work?

Thx, I have found the related thread https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?24108-Stop-the-Cursor-Movement&highlight=stop+cursor+movement
I didn’t know that callback.
I’ll try the callback when I met same misalignment in next flight. -
Okay I tried it and found how to use this callback.
I may have to post a comment on the related thread cos how the callback works is different from what I imagined, and after understanding how to use it it really works.
Thx for letting me know the callback! -
Nop! I met another misalignment today so hit the callback again but this time it didn’t help me…hmmmm???

Options are a deadzone or cleaning the pot.
Other than that, it is what pots do when they are on their way out and the option for that is replacement.

If you want send me a PM to remind me and I will give you the name of the program. But yes I had the same issue. Even though I calibrated my microsticks were never truly centered, thus causing it to drift.

When I calibrate my microstick I always manually center it - i.e.; force it - as close as I can…and then go back and recheck/adjust the deadband.
