Possible bug with GMT in balkans
-
Not sure if this is a fault with balkans or falcon in general but I was flying a package of f15s and looking for ground moving targets in air to ground mode and locked up what I thought was some mud.
As I locked it up I ordered my flight to engage to which they confirmed Roger.
Off they went to engage. The mud was moving quite quickly and I soon realised they were friendly mig21s.
With awacs and aa mode I confirmed they were and confirmed no enemy aa in the area.
I called my flight back without incident.
There was no mud either.
Any ideas?
Using phone so sorry for text.
Should add this was in campaign.

In addition, my thinking of placing this finding here is that it’s the first time I’ve flown a campaign with friendly mig21s.
I didn’t know if that had any bearings on the issue.
I haven’t tried locking up a friendly mig21 in aa mode and telling wingmen to engage.
If the above proves to be a deliberate random possibility such as awacs occasionally giving false information by design - I can sure live with it.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for this awesome work.
I really good theatre indeed.

I will look into it. We have some guys at the 56th that are regularly flying the Balkans. I will check with them as well.

Roger that.
Like I say, not really a massive issue. Just a small observation.
I was sure the area was clear of hostile because of the state of the campaign. We have pretty much air superiority now.
Thanks again.
