BMS runs on DX9.

I also have Win7/64 + DX11, I didn’t install any extra OpenGL drivers and BMS runs just fine. I have a pretty weak GPU, so I don’t get impressive FPS, but with BMS 4.33 U1 I haven’t experienced any CTDs or similar anomalies.

While you installing BMS 4.33 U1, you will have the Microsoft DirectX 9.0c installed.
No need for OpenGL drivers installation for Falcon BMS!
In the case that you think any other software (game) mess your DirectX 9.0c, simply get them from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109
You can always install them again without any fear, as also no need for a reboot ;).

I installed BMS 4.32 and it is running, without any “compatibility” setting changes
BMS 4.33 is throwing the “program has stopped working …” message. I tried setting the compatibility to xp / sp3, and also tried the “automated-compatibility” dialog (which initially suggested xp sp2 (that didnt’ work), then xp sp3, still not working

Did you fully remove 4.32 before installing 4.33.1?

He doeasn’t need to uninstall the BMS 4.32 in order to have a correct installation of BMS 4.33 U1.
I have them both in my windows 7 Ultimate x64 with SP1 with no one issue 6 months now! Also i never hear something similar here in forum. At “mstram”: You don’t need to set the BMS 4.33 U1 in a compatibility mode. It runs smooth in a normal windows 7 state.
Somewhere else is your issue.
Maybe you have a corrupted version of your downloaded files. Try to re-download the BMS 4.33 U1, uninstall the current one, reboot the pc and install it again. See if that helps.
Also pay attention to your anti-virus while you downloading the BMS 4.33 U1 as also at the installation of it! It is usual some of them (anti-virus) to have a false alarm and delete some critical files, and some times without a warning for the deletion!

Change the short cut to run 4.33 as an administrator. I ran into the problem of it not wanting to run without that on my old Win 7 install.
Ironically enough when I re-installed a few days ago it ran just fine without that.
