Internal View Reset
-
Hi:
Hopefully I’m just missing this, but is there a way to do a View Reset when inside the cockpit? I realize there is one for the external view, however, when I’m inside and panning or snapping my view, is there a way to snap back to center/forward?
Thanks a ton

3 snaps back to center for me
does that not happen for you?
-
Cik - 3 snaps back from where? If you ‘snap’ around, attempting to track an A/C, you may have no idea where ‘back’ is. And if you are panning, good luck finding center quickly. I’m looking for a (hopefully) one keystroke recenter function, that will recenter your HUD.
FYI, I’m on the current 4.33.1 version, and TrackIR is not an option.
Thanks

hit the numberpad 5 key should be it to recenter from any position…
-
Thanks, but Num5 is not assigned, and Shift+Num5 resets external view, not internal.
-
which keyfile do you use?? I use Dunx but checked the FULL version and it does say it is the external view but ingame it does inside the cockpit too. try it ingame and see if it works…

-Snake3 centers to the middle of the HUD for me, which is what you’re looking for, isn’t it?
check left for bandit, then recenter, check right, recenter etc?

“pan 3D cockpit center” –-> NUM 5

Checked since. Not relevant to issue.

Clicking mouse wheel (mine has a switch) has a view restore function. Un able to check right now if that would be of use in your case.
That’s just for FOV I believe.

Yeah just been able to try it. Not fov reset but does seem limited to resetting after the sideways (button down followed by drag mouse left/right). Might be handy to reassign for the required purpose though.
You have to reach for it but ive always thought the 3 button/view was adequate to return eyes front.

Hey Nephilim….I’ve tried several times, and it only works when I’m on an external view (i.e. 9 or 0). If I select 2(for snap), or 3(for pan), the default View Reset (shift_num5) does nothing. I’ve been using the default Dogfight (Furball) for testing.
Also, I’m using the default KeyfFile…BMS FULL.
FYI…I’m not a nube to flightsims (although it appears to be so!). Actually I’m an old f*** to sims. Been flying them since Falcon3, and was on a dev team for four flight games. However, clearly I have my head up and locked regarding this!!!
THANKS for all the help!!!

Hey regev….sorry, but tried it. Pressed 3 to go to ‘panning’ cockpit. Panned view, pressed num5, and all it does is make a ‘click’ sound.

I use the default 3 and 2. Using 3, I pan with the hat, also in 4, padlock, clicking 3 returns to the center HUD centered view. I don’t have a track system. If you have panned while in 2 mode, you must physically pan back to center…

-SnakeThat is too weird… Did you try going to the Controller setup and press numpad 5 in there to see if it goes to that view in the mapping screen??
-
Hey Nephilim…sorry for the late response. Was away on business. OK…back to the PITA! I have looked at the keyfile, and pressed num5, and it’s not associated with any key.
Would you mind sending me the keyfile you are using, so I can verify it does work here. Then I can see what I’m doing incorrect.
Thanks

In my experience, the numpad is always bound to emulate the keypad under the HUD. The default was 3 in a previous keyfile I used, but now I just have it bound to a button. It’s the same button you use to return to the pan view from the snap or external views, and should be called ‘Pan (3D) View.’ It may also be bound to F12 (it is in the keyfile I’m using now), so try that as well.

Im using the old 32 keyfile still but in there there is a call back for look forward. Just bind that to a key of your choosing.
