Tmj download to joystick problem
-
I have a TMS problem in my current joystick file so I tried to download DeeJay’s tmj file (provided in the BMS installer) to my joystick in stead of my current one. Foxy isn’t happy with that: I get lots of error messages when the program is trying to compile the file. Same happens with my regular tmj file (Ripley made it looooooooooong ago). I could be missing something, for me it also has been many years since I worked with foxy. Those files should be usable in my Cougar stick. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, I found DeeJays Profile and loaded Cougar Control Panel.exe the DeeJays CCP file then the Foxy Profile it compiled fine for me… You need to load the CCP file too… as sometimes they have axes assigned to c ertain parameters and Foxy will not change them…
I also loaded a few other Profiles they worked no problem… Other then not having the correct layout or file for CCP they TMJ Files should load to stick No problems…
I don’t have the other file you are loading did it come with a CCP File as well?? If it did not perhaps the CCP has the wrong axes assigned for the TMJ file…
What is the exact message you get with your Ripley File??

What do you mean by a CCP file? A .tmc?
-
yes a .tmc file… if it does not have one that is fine but most times users have axis’ a certain way cand foxy will not change axis assignments and will sometimes end as a compile error…
for example the Dejay file has 3 files one for the CCP and 2 for Foxy… if you don’t load the tmc file for CCP, foxy will get an error when compiling it…

Hi
The good news is: I found the cause for the error messages: the tmj and tmm files MUST be in the Program Files (x86)/HOTAS/Files folder otherwise they won’t compile and download.
The bad news: when I try to load DeeJay’s key file in the setup/controller menu, after downloading the tmj and tmm to the Cougar, BMS crashes.
I’ll try to reinstall Ripley’s files.

Where is DeeJay’s .tmj file in the 4.33.1 installer?
Dunc_DX I can find included in the install, but no other Cougar setups, or I am missing something?
-
I found it in the 4.32 install if I recall right.
-
In the mean time I got Dunc’s profile loaded. TMS is working again, missed that one
I’m only missing a key chart for Dunc’s profile: some standard keys are altered, like ctr-z-r for framerate.

There is only 1 difference from the default BMS-Full.key file (Padlock to Padlock_AA iirc) so it is the same as the default key combination for 4.33, which is different from the 4.32 keyfile.
It is now ALT + C then F for framerate for example. Have a look at the Keyboard Layout files in the \Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\Docs\Key Files & Input\Keyboard Layout Files folder for details.
