Not able to lock up targets
-
One good test for the TMS up command is to switch to ACM radar mode and try to go into BORE. This bypasses any possible issue with a lock not happening due to some other reason.
-
Thanks for the input. I’ve tried those steps but still no joy. Admittedly, I am quite new and feel over my head with these controller setup procedures and browsing the keystrokes manual. I have managed to get almost everything I need mapped on the controller setup page inside the bms 4.33u1 program ie. nws, radar cursor slew, speedbrakes, but for some reason I cannot get a target lock to save my life.

Shifted key? Just a thought.
Keep in mind that short presses and long presses have different functions. Maybe some more info on your procedure would be helpful.
-
That’s the beauty of the ACM-BORE test. It doesn’t depend on if the controller is misconfigured to give a pulse instead of a hold or any vagaries relating to radar lock.
Can you paste the lines in your keyfile that have the callback “SimTMSUp” in them?

Thanks for the reply.
Here’s what in the .key file:
SimDoNothing -1 0 0XFFFFFFFF 0 0 0 -1 “======== 5.11 FLIGHT STICK ========”
SimTMSUp -1 0 0xC7 1 0 0 1 “STICK: TMS Up”
SimTMSDown -1 0 0xCF 1 0 0 1 “STICK: TMS Down”
SimTMSLeft -1 0 0xD3 1 0 0 1 “STICK: TMS Left”
SimTMSRight -1 0 0xD1 1 0 0 1 “STICK: TMS Right” -
Thanks for the reply.

SimTMSLeft -1 0 0xD3 1 0 0 1 “STICK: TMS Left”
SimTMSRight -1 0 0xD1 1 0 0 1 “STICK: TMS Right”Those are keyboard commands. None of that shows TMS mapped to your HOTAS.
Re-check your keyfile …. at the end, past all the keyboard commands.

G550 I’ve got a CH FS/PT based set up and have had various controller based issues in BMS…as you’ll see from my posting history LOL!
Might be worth checking if this is an issue with your TMS mapping or your cockpit set up/switchology before investigating further…
If your FCR is active and in RWS mode…TWS Right long (press and hold) will switch between RWS and TWS mode…and in TWS Mode TMS Right long (press and hold) will switch back to RWS…this is easy to see in your MFD and isn’t so dependent on other factors…
Likewise TMS Up long (press and hold) will instantly activate Boresight Mode (narrow FOV) and this is easy to see in your MFD as there will be two long vertical bars on screen showing the limits of your radar sweep…releasing TMS Up will put radar back into normal mode
(I appreciate this is Exactly what Frederf suggested…I’ve just explained it in a different way)
If they’re both working - its unlikely to be a TMS mapping issue and you just need to check your switchology/cockpit set up… -

Ooops! Sorry you’re absolutely right…its only BORE if you’re in ACM mode…not RWS or TWS my mistake!
_G550_Apologies in advance…if you think this is patronising…but you’re not trying to lock up the Triangle that appears on your FCR and represents a steerpoint are you? Actual radar targets are squares…
Just a thought - because I will (cough) admit to trying to do that a couple of times when I first started back to BMS!
