GMT\SEA radar

2 question about this modes :
1 - this modes tracks aircraft while they are in the air (FL25), is it a bug or RL situation ?
2 - GMT max scan is 40nm and SEA max scan is 80NM. I can track moving vehicles on the ground with the SEA mode for a distance of up to 80NM . . . so, is this a bug or RL situation ?

Excuse me…What? And just how did you manage to spot an air target with your FCR in GMT mode? And get altitude data? In GMT mode?
Sorry for my attitude but this seems to me a little “ufo” kind of stuff -
answer to question 1. we have tracked low flying helis with gmt https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?27245-Why-are-helicopters-so-hard-to-pick-up-on-radar-and-how-do-you-work-around-that
answer to question 2. I never tried tracking land vehicles with sea mode but i know you need sea mode to track boats gmt wont work. gmt would be better at tracking land units than sea mode anyways because gmt can zoom in closer then sea mode can. i dont know if sea mode has a glitch though.

Not really a bug or RL situation… the two modes should show returns depending on where the radar is pointed. With the right setup, you can track clouds in GM - so you should be able to track choppers I guess.
Not sure if the SEA range is prototypical there. SEA is a modified GM mode, and there are times were you could and should use SEA overland.

Thanks guys for your input.

Sorry for my attitude but this seems to me a little “ufo” kind of stuffI spotted a moving tgt on the sea FCR Mode, but it was moving very fast. Moved to AA FCR (RWS) and on the same area was a flight of 4 aircraft at FL25. Checked it again on the same flight from a different direction, same results !

Interesting, shouldn’t happen. Can you reproduce that and possibly take a vid while at it?

If u can, in your next flight try to switch to SEA mode, place the cursor on the moving tgt and watch how the target moving fast from the cursor. Switch to AA FCR, u should see AIR tgt in the cursor area. switch back to SEA mode and compare the tgt advancement. Thats how i did it.

Checked few more times, even the GMT Mode tracks flying targets (FL25). Not a big deal, learned how to distinguish between aerial and moving land targets, more workload but fun
