Just a quick question if I use the old Data files to play in Multiplayer the gears are no extending completely. Is that a know issue ?
Yes, that is because the dat file is affecting the model. BMS let’s the dat file control dof’s. I prefer to work with XDOF’s and let it control the moving parts there. Old dat’s with the new models don’t work.

Yes, it’s on the list of model I will build. Next model I will do is the HAF block C52M. How soon I will work on the RDAF F-16 depends on how quick other blocks are build…

Oke, I’ll install u2 tomorrow. Even though people who tested it with u2 did not encounter the problem there must be something that is u2/switch 47 related. There is a solution but I want to check before I edit the models.
Are there people with u2 install that don’t have this problem?

Good to hear there are people who use u2 and don’t have the problem. So something else is going on here…
It’s not a skin related issue but a dof/switch issue. Send/post a screenshot of your LE parent screen if you have the problem. janhas at gmail dot com

I use the u2 version and have the same issue with the gear. Funny thing though, at first i forgot to change the values to 255 and the gear worked fine! then i changed them while i was going through your manual again and bam, black gear textures Now i forgot the original values, perhaps those will solve the issue.

original value is 99 dof and 62 switches

The problem appears when i start the TE aircraft on the ground! (Rampsrart, taxi and takeoff), but when i start the TE directly in flight the gear and others problems are not here, all is fonctional

same problem on my side with u2, no light support on front gear and black parts internal main gear with missed parts between main gears and panels, tried to follow Master Yoda for switch and dofs numbers, no joy

It looks like switch 54 is the culprit here… Tomorrow I will check if just keeping the gear parts on the model even when doors closed does not affect the fps… At the moment the doors are closed all inner gear parts are switched of and an entire 4096 dxt5 22mb skin and 40k poly’s for the gears does not have to be loaded into the GPU memory. A black filler will appear so see through issues are prevented… It looks like it’s the best way at the moment to fix the issue. With u1 no problems what so ever…
If the solution works I will release a new version and also include the models with the poly type 25 BMS style canopy reflection.
For multiplayer: the plan is to include the new models into the new Ikaros theater version. No issue with dat’s any more…
Update: I made a small error of including an older 3023.dds without the proper texture for LOD2/3 main gear bay. I will fix this too by including the latest version…

I’m about to start the process of installing it but will be the first proper mod I’ve installed for BMS apart from the odd aircraft texture. Because I’m such a noob when it comes to this can I please ask for some clarification as to what, if any, effect this mod has on multiplayer?
6. UNCHECK “Same Acdata Files Required" option in the BMS Configuration screen (launcher) if you want to fly the models in a multiplayer environment!
Does this step preclude me from joining certain MP servers?

I noted if the fighter is clean I have gear issue no ladder if it is full loaded all is ok
