X-55, rotary 3 & 4 issues..
-
Guys, recently reinstalled all my stuff onto a new ssd, and i’m working on getting things back up and running, controls etc. I have mostly everything working well now, but i cant seem to get my 2 rotary knobs on the throttle base to co operate. I have programmed them the same way i had them before, as directional axis, keys are set in bms, and i have the same key strokes in the x55 software in windows, but nothing happens when i turn them in the setup screen ingame. The keys work, the rotary’s don’t, they work fine in the testing part of the windows software. Am i missing something?
Running version 7.0.55.13 with driver version 7.0.32.81 on windows 7…
Thanks for any ideas

Ok, I will reply to myself. Upon more testing, I didn’t have any of the other modes available either, and turns out it’s a driver problem. For some reason my win7 wont let me install the .55 Saitek drivers, seems there is an issue with the certificate or something, when I reboot and disable the cert check, I can install, and it works ok, but if I restart I loose the drivers, and windows reports the drivers are not installed for the x55 so I need to find the previous versions and see if that helps.

Let me know if you have any luck finding drivers…I have the same setup and mine works. I could dropbox them for you since I bank all the old drivers. Also, I have a complete DX setup that doesn’t use SST, if you want it. I use one throttle button for Voice Attack, but other than that, all DX to BMS. PM me if you want help.

Just to update this issue. Didn’t manage to fix it, and the only way I can get the drivers for the x55’s to work properly is to boot windows with digital driver cert disabled, using the F8 boot menu. No amount of disabling the driver cert in windows helped, also tried different driver versions, no luck. I’m now on a new install of windows, and still the issue has persisted. It’s odd as it was working perfectly fine before I made the switch to an ssd. Oh well, thanks to DG for his help with older driver versions for testing. At least I know that if I want to fly bms, I can

I’ve been having a lot of issues with my x-55 over the past few months. It started with just one rotary tripping when I’d advance the throttle. It has since moved into 3 of my rotaries, rendering them useless. I’ve tried new drivers (no help). I’ve always had it on its own USB powered hub and have tried it directly into the PC, and even on a different PC (Same issues). I’ve been so frustrated with it. MadCatz has killed Saitek quality of hardware and I’m scared to see what happens next with Logitech. My solution now…… Just got a TM Warthog delivered today.

I find the X55 fine, just for some reason couldnt get the dam drivers to work properly in my install, seems im the only one in windows land who has this issue with unsigned drivers. Anyway i have them working now, i just run windows in test mode, and using an app i got, i added a signature to the drivers manually. Congrats on the WH

An update to this issue. After continuing problems with my windows install in general (prob caused by all the hacking I did to get the drivers to work) I started over with a clean slate install again, and this time, finally managed to get windows update working. So after I had left the updater install some 240 updates, and other misc things, all was running well. Finally tried to install the drivers for the x55 system again last night and im happy to say it worked first time, no issue with driver signatures or anything. It did take a few minutes to finish, and I had to unplug and replug in the x55’s during install, thought it wasn’t going to work, but thankfully as far as I can tell, it’s all working, profiles, rotaries etc. I will get bms put on again and hopefully no more controller issues.
So in short, any problems? make sure your windows 7 is up to date!!
