SA-7 Should Be Rear-Aspect Only Shot-Capable
-
Really love this sim.
I’ve been shot down multiple times by a guiding SA-7 taking a face-shot when I’m extremely fast, dropping flares, not in burner, and my exhaust facing away from the missile’s seeker.

Unrealistic missile specifications in the database? Is there a way to mod/correct this behavior?

Are you sure it was an SA-7 and not a later missile like an SA-14, 16 or even and 18. All capable of engaging a target from any angle.

ACMI says SA7 as well as debrief.

An ACMI would actually be nice to see what happened.

Clearly tracking me. As I said earlier…not the first time at all. And in some cases, SA7 fired in the face of my lead.
This shows the ACMI aspect, with flares ingressing:
This is my cockpit POV, and you can see the glow of my flares on the inst panel.
PM your email and I can send the entire Tacview ACMI file, if interested.

Not related I hope? https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?28324-AA-7-(R-24T)-missile
SA-14 was all aspect? one to question.
