IVC problems
-
Hey guys, I’m having big problems with the IVC in 4.33.1, I can hear other flight members keying the mic but not their voices on the radio. What do I have to do to make it work?
Are the other players muted on their end? We had this issue, and it was that simple of a problem.

Had similar issues in 4.32 …. try cycling your Comm1 and Comm2 knobs all the way off, then on again.

me & a few people i know have had this problem, we fixed it but i can’t remember the solution off the top of my head. i’ll ask around and see if anyone else remembers.

I’m not sure I understand ‘muted’. I can hear them keying the mic in the begining and the end of their transmission but not their voices in between.
try cycling your Comm1 and Comm2 knobs all the way off, then on again.
I’ll try doing that.

Thank you very much.
I have to mention probably that they don’t hear me either.
Do I have to forward any new ports? -
From the BMS Manual page 84 (in your \Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\Docs\Falcon BMS Manuals folder):
- BMS needs UDP ports 2934 and 2935 to be opened/forwarded.
- IVC needs UDP ports 9987 to 9989 to be opened/forwarded.
Make sure the ports are forwarded to your PC first. If it never works then this may be the reason.
When you get into the UI test IVC (use F2 so that people flying in 3D don’t get disturbed) before committing to 3D.
If it happens in flight after you’ve tested in the UI, then the advice from Agave_Blue to turn your COMM1 (for UHF) and/or COMM2 (for VHF) knobs all the way off, then on again is what usually works for me too.

Tnak you for the reply. I have the ports that you mentioned open. I haven’t tried the thing with the COMM knobs though, will try it the next time me and the guys get to fly.

alright, this happens for a few reasons.
when you hear the key clicks, but not IVC itself it is because the mic clicks are a part of the falcon process, so you will hear them as long as falcon itself is not muted.
so, essentially what could be causing this are:
IVC itself is muted in windows.
IVC is being squelched by another voice program, or windows itself (check sound settings)
the player who is currently talking through IVC has the wrong default mic device set in windows (IE, IVC is “hearing” a non-existent, or shut-off mic device) the most likely for your average user is this one, and we’ve had consistent problems with it. fortunately it’s easy to solve; go into audio devices and make sure your microphone is set to default device and you should be good.
the third option is the most common, and probably your culprit. if IVC is actually connecting, it’s the only one that actually prevents people from talking, so if IVC is working for everyone else but you can’t hear one person in particular, it’s probably this one.
on win7 this is all fairly easy to diagnose. go to the system tray, pull up audio devices –-> recording, make sure your microphone of choice is set to default (right click —> set default audio device) that menu can also show if your microphone is picking up audio (or you can just try another voice program) if it is, and if other voice programs are working it’s because your default is set wrong, or you’ve manually selected the wrong one on the IVC client window.

IVC itself is muted in windows.
Ah, this I have not checked, thank you, I’ll look into that.

Hi
I have problems with the IVC, when I talk by bms, they can listen me, but I cannot hear them
Please Help me!! -
Enrique, have you forwarded UDP ports 9987 to 9989?
From BMS-Manual, Chapter 7 MULTIPLAYER:
Besides a stable (and fast) internet connection you will most likely need to open ports to allow BMS to work through it. Please refer to your router, firewall or ISP documentation on how to open up or forward ports.
- BMS needs UDP ports 2934 and 2935 to be opened/forwarded.
- IVC needs UDP ports 9987 to 9989 to be opened/forwarded.
BMS-Manual is in your installation, but you can also download an excellent Spanish translation from this link if you prefer:
