GBU-31 on moving targets possible?
-
That’s correct, Zeeman, it’s a fixed point JDAM. The GBU-54, on the other hand, has LST capability and can hit moving targets

just a query… a 2000 lb bomb for a truck??? maybe a 32?? or 38?? if it was stationary

Save the GBU-31(v) 3/B for runway or bunker busting from High Alt - don’t forget to assign runway portion (there are 3 for each runway) so that the co-ordinates are loaded into your DTC - DO NOT designate using FCR or that’s where your bombs will hit as this action will over ride the co-ordinates in the DTC.
You can Drop them as dumb bombs using CCRP, or CCIP, but why would you other than targets of opportunity or a change of target once your in the pit - it has been known to get to your target only to find it already destroyed and you don’t want to haul all that iron all the way home now do you ;0)
Hope this helps ….

I used it on the truck to verify that I have no mistakes like LSR in TRNG mode etc.
Just a strange thing that the GBU-31 (v) 3/B is in the default loadout for this type mission (engaging moving targets)Noooo I don’t want to take it home with me The satisfaction that I get by destroying targets is a must^^
Thank you for the help, this will help me to fix possible errors in TGT designation -
