[TACVIEW] Friendly fire by AI Amraam redirecting while pitbulling
-
-
Last week me and another human wingman got shot down by a human’s AI wingman just due to unfortunate engagement geometry. AI doesn’t understand CAF.
-
I’m not sure why he was engaging the Mig 17, when two F16s were engaging at close range…?
-
We couldn’t see the F16 on our FCR, and I directed the element on the bogeys.

That must have been a rather unpleasant surprise for all concerned in that case.

Can happen. If the 120 is pitbull and cant keep the lock, it will try a mini search around the contact and can catch somebody else. This is why the concept of Clear Avenue of Fire is important
-
i’ve actually had an AMRAAM fired at close range miss, continue a turn around the target in a hook, then pitbull onto someone on the other side of a ~90 degree turn.
yeah.

Well, 4 got an Average rating if I remember well. The AI won’t bust itself, after all…

Damnit, Carl.
