Gear ligts and terrain elevation files
-
I have a couple of small issues I could use some advice on. First of all I can never seem to get my landing gear lights to come on. On night flights I just cant get them to work.
Secondly I recently did a fresh clean install of BMS all the way to U3. Now when ever I open mission commander or weapon delivery planner I get a warning that the terrain elevation files are missing. I haven’t had any problems in the sim but ever since I re-installed BMS I get these messages. Just curious as to why im getting them and if how to correct the issue.
As always many thanks to this community !!!

Think you might need to select “per vertex lighting” in the BMS configuration.

No, you need Per-Pixel (default). If you set Per-Vertex Lighting you will not see the landing gear lights (among other things). See BMS-Manual page 237.

My bad, you are right of course

Is the install fine and is it flying correctly??
If so, it maybe a temp file in MC and/or WDP?

Yeah the sim is great. Perfect. No issues in the sim. I just get the warning with mission commander and weapon delivery planner, oh also tacview. But everything works as it always has, just never got that warning before.

In your MC folder, there is a Setup.ini file that stores the info for your BMS install.
Delete that file and run MC again and the file will regenerate. Should take care of the issue. Due to the new installation it must not be seeing something correctly.
I don’t have WDP or Tacview installed, but I would assume they have similar files.
