Registry Setup Error-my tale of woe
-
About a year ago, I moved my solid state C drive to become my new E drive and replaced by old C drive with a new solid state C drive. I retained my old regular D drive.
Of course BMS with I think Update 1 was on my old C drive (now E) and I erased all of the contents of the old C drive.
so the current setup is as follows:
new C drive
old D drive
old C that is now the E drive.I downloaded the BMS 4.33U1 Full Install setup which includes 4.33 and U1 to my D drive. When I click the setup icon, I receive the following message:
_The registry entry points to a folder that does not contain a valid Falcon BMS 4.33 U1 install. Please restore the missing files and try again or remove the registry entry. (HKLM\SOFTWARE\Benchmark Sims\Falcon BMS 4.33U1) to be able to install the product again. Path: D:\Falcon BMS 4.33U1_
So I searched my registry and could not locate the requested entry. The entries in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE–SOFTWARE skips from ATI to Canon.
Nothing appears in the control panel for Benchmark. At this point I am stuck. I did find an old copy of BMS 4.33 on my D drive with no updates [launcher is dated 10/26/15] and it works.
I am a novice on the registry and do not want to do anything to it that will cause me bigger problems.
Let me know if you need any more info.

Nice that you were the person that gave me that great answer. It worked. Now on to integrating Falcon with Helios, WDP and the newYAM64.
