X52 pro windows 10 driver issues/sst issues dx changes?

Firstly, apologies if my forum search fu is weak, it seems everyone wants an X52 Pro profile, but I just want to make mine work!
Since a new PC on Windows 10 I’ve suffered from the driver issue where certain SST commands are repeated - e.g you press second trigger detent to fire the cannon, but when you release it continues to fire. I’ve also got the mini mouse mapped to the slew cursor buttons, when they are used the cursor just keeps on moving even when centered. As far as I can tell it’s a known issue between Saitek and Windows 10, and no one is likely to get around to fixing it soon.
I bought a TM 16000m, but I didn’t like it as it’s plasticy and there are loads of buttons on the base and hardly any on the stick, so I sent it back. Instead, I’ve tried to set up my current x52 profile but override some of the commands with their dx counterparts in the hope that this will resolve my issue - which they kind of have, in that if I load a dx only profile my second trigger detent button now works correctly! Brilliant, but now I’ve lost all my other key binds that I’m used to.
So my question is, assuming the dx button mapping works to resovle this issue, how best can I alter my keyfile to ensure my cursor slew and other buttons all map ok, including mode switch, but still use the SST parts that I’m used to? Do I need to turn off the SST software and dx every button and command, or can I edit my existing profile?

While I’ve been using SST for like 8 years ,half of that with X52 Pro, and haven’t had any major issues, I can also see it causing some problems. Especially in BMS, where many functions are, by default, combinations with Ctrl, Shift (or even both!), some command ere either short or long press, it can get confused with multiple simultaneous inputs.
Some time ago I’ve transitioned from SST profile to a full DX profile, leaving only bare minimum, that is the curosor, speedbrakes and head-tracking centering in SST, and it’s working great, I can finally issue multiple simultaneous commands without problems.
I’ve used Flounder’s DX keyfile as a basis for my own modifications - I just copy-pasted the last portion of the .key file, the part with HOTAS Unshifted/HOTAS Shifted, and edited the callbacks for my likings.Driver and Software version is 7.0.63.6 .
The cursor is mapped as “Advanced Command” like that:You’d probably get even better results if you map the cursor commands to something without any Shift/Ctrl modifiers, to prevent any conflicts.
If you have rudder pedals, you might want to try a Windows Registry trick to make the mini-stick visible as real, mappable axes, at the cost of disabling twist rudder. Ready to use files are on Blu3wolf’s site, more about them on the forums, just check the joystick’s device PID in Device Manager.

Brilliant, I’ll have a play with that when I get back from work. thanks man

Agree.
DX everything you can, including making the mini-stick an axis if you can get by without the twist rudder.
