PAIR dropped GBU-10 with only 50% precision
-
Hey fellow Viper Pilots,
is there a reason why on occassions bombs miss when dropped in PAIR configuration?
I flew a quick mission to destroy a bridge and when I dropped both LGBs at 24000ft. at 360 KIAS I destroyed the bridge
but in the after action report it says “1hit, 1 miss”. When reloading the mission and trying it again I get 100%
hit. So how come that sometimes one bomb went astray although settings aren’t changed?I had this phenomenom on different bridge strikes as well. I even had to replay them up to 3 times
to get both bombs to hit the bridge -
In real (not the same behavior in Falcon), dropping LGBs in pair can lead to a miss of the second bomb because the first one will be masked by the other one.
That’s why it’s better to drop one bomb per bombing run. -
Another option is that the first bomb destroys the target, then the second hits nothing, i.e it misses.

What I got in this case is a 100% hit with one bomb destroying the target and the other “damaging” it, however this is possible
As you can see the first bomb will destroy the target and magically the next one will further damage the already destroyed bridge:
I have made some screens of what happened again, with the miss

Yah this doesn’t seem to be implemented correctly. It’s possible you might not get the desired weapons effects or it misses slightly due to things like IR deconfliction but it should not be missing this much.
