HOTAS Cougar Mod Service Guy

USA. I’ve thought about modding them myself but I’m really busy and don’t want to rush it and mess it up. I’m going for the most realistic possible.
I’ve heard these kinds of mods are good and it looks like they’re still available:

Do you have any idea how must time it has taken to develope a “mod” like that?
Talking a lot of time hereGr Falcas

Has anyone ran into any issues doing either of those mods themselves?I have installed both force sensing mods over the years. They come with good instructions and install is pretty straightforward.

Habu, thanks, any preference? Is there a marked difference in quality or realism between the two or ease of installation?

I’ve done the FCC3 mod - I think taking the Cougar apart is harder than installing the mod! I did come up with my own trick for tightening down the retaining screws evenly…I used a coin inserted between each screw as I tightened them down. When I was done my FCC3 was dead-nutz zeroed in calibration. Really like my FCC3, and am waiting patiently to buy the one Arend is working on for the Warthog grip for use in my pit build.

I am using the Warthog grip om my FCC3, works
Like a charm. The other advantage of the FCC is it will fit perfect on Pegasus stickbase.
Should even fit onto a real base.Gr Falcas

Problem for me with using a WH grip on a Cougar base/current FCC3 is that you lose the CMS->dwn button. Seeing as that button isn’t used in BMS, it’s my exclusive go-to as a shift key…and this is why I’m droooling for Arend’s WH FCC3.
That, and as Falcas point out - it fits on Martin’s FCC base perfectly!
-
Cool. The price makes the FCC3 more attractive too. Any similar kits to make the throttle more realistic? My one is especially worn out from the prior user and the detents basically don’t do anything.
-
My experience is with older FCC-1 and with Realsim FSSB-2. Both are easy to install and well-constructed. Can not really compare durability of the FCC-3, since I have not used it, but I suspect you will be happy with either unit.

I installed my FSSB-R2 easily, so it must be pretty easy. Had mine for 7 years now and worked it hard without a single issue.
