Fantastic airbase atmosphere in BMS

other thing is the neutral flight in campagane. I remember a couple of jordanian F-5 in Israel. That was a beautiful surprise for me.

+1. For me the fact that you are part of an immersive war is what sets is apart from every other flight sim out there. I am flying a Balkan campaign, and the fact that you have been assigned a SEAD mission for a set of 4 Tonkas out of the same airbase is fantastic. I also like the voices on the radio, certainly the tower controller, and Miss Cheerful who scares the life of me when she says: Cowboy 1 Please clear the runway…
No other sim has come close to this kind of stuff - simulating the whole soup to nuts of being a pilot - I cannot fly any other sim “seriously” - and I just “play” with them.

I love the way when you return in your airbase and the tower says that you’re Number 3 or 5 to Land : Then you go on the queue and see all the IA aircraft in front of you when you’re on downwind -
One of the biggest highlights for me too…The base feels busy, In other combat sims for me it feels lifeless…Unless online on a busy server…

I thought exactly this the other night before I read this thread.
Took off and did a 30 minute uneventful BARCAP mission and landed back at base with all my munitions. Taxied in, opened the canopy and powered down. Was still amazed as I heard other AIs taking off on full afterburn. Really felt like you were there in the moment.
Would love for some static ground crew and tow/fuel trucks though. I think this would immensely add to immersion factor.

Slight hijack but what are the practices for radio frequencies for you guys?
I have mine default on channel 15 through the tape and don’t really change it after takeoff. Do you guys tune to a different frequency once airborne and on your way? If so, which?
Thanks

We generally use tower frequency (UHF 15 mostly) during RAMP, taxi and take-off and once the formation is lined up we switch to tactical (usually UHF 6).
Cheers, Uwe

I switch to Guard, UHF 13 when I approach the FLOT, to follow the news (AWACS call).

It depends on wether I’m flying offline or online, during offline I enjoy some “AI company” on UHF 13 (proximity I think), too
All the best, Uwe

Excpect to change your habits on standard presets … major changes planed in the future.

3-4 weeks?

Correct.
People are going to freak if that is code for “3-4 weeks for real this time”
Thanks for the hard work as always, regardless of the type of ‘3-4 weeks’ :):drink::headb:

They are there. Maybe not everywhere, but usually you will find them.
What this shows is my first mission attempt using hotpit refueling and a ‘shuttle’ base.
Mission AAR can be seen here

I always tune guard after taking off. I think hearing calls from other proximity flights help a lot with SA. As for my DTC, check this post.
In Balkans, most of the airbases I am flying out of are Victor frequency, so I have Uniform 13 as default on the DTC.

Proximity is UHF 12. UHF 13 is Guard.
-
More correctly… UHF 13 is Team…at least for the next 3-4 weeks…
-
I am trying to get into the habit of having VHF on 15 for start-up taxi take off, and then tune to guard (to at as services). UHF is then set to flight commands as I believe that is closer to what is done in RL (although willing to be told I am wrong).
Generally I am much more careful MP where it does matter, where as SP not quite so precise.

You really cannot beat falcon BMS. I have been following the sim more than 15years, have played almost all the variants (falcon 4,freefalcon 3, freefalcon5, freefalcon 6, Falcon Allied force etc). I have tested Jane’s F15, Total Air war F22, Eurofighter, DCS. In all of these, nothing comes close to F4. The fact it is still around today attest to the depth and hardwork that was put into the sim and that hardwork is still ingoing.
It is simply the best out there.
