1999: USAF Viper Shot down

Kept up with most of the comms, I’m learning

That’s a great footage, Harry. First-hand info and data… I recall watching a full story, including an interview with the mobile SA-6 commander who explained, in great detail, the tactics he and his crew had to adopt to hit the F-16. The pilot’s (Scott O’Grady) 6 days in the enemy territory were shown, too, plus the whole rescue operation, what forces and in what manner were mobilised.
-
The pilot was Lt Col David Goldfein (SA-3) who is fairly senior now if it’s the same guy……the O’Grady shootdown was 1995.

You’re right, my first association with the footage linked by Planehazza was sort of impulsive, and quite obviously wrong, nonetheless - relevant as regards the subject matter. Thanks for correcting my misinterpretation.

Hi Mirv
Yes I was about to say… he’s as senior as senior gets:

Pretty good! I wonder how much the RL sounds are changed by the quality of the recording. How ‘crisp’ are they heard by the pilot I wonder?
