Malc spoke wisdom with this post……
Your were right sebastian didn’t share all the info…
If its not listed or mentioned ?I had a look what else was changed from default settings:
- Pixel Lighting to Vertex
- You have HDR Lighting turned off
- Heat Haze is off
- Control Surface Updates set to 1 every millisecond as apposed to the default 1 every 200ms
As Malc mentioned it wold have been better to list the changes.
Just saying……
And why his link to the file should be removed!!

I had a look what else was changed from default settings:- Pixel Lighting to Vertex, you lose many of the cool lighting effects, this has been discussed elsewhere.
- You have HDR Lighting turned off, again a major loss.
- Heat Haze is off, I love this one and would not chose to lose it.
It would have been better to disclose these changes.
Sorry Chris, but 80fp to 120fps, life changing, no. And yes I am a sarcastic barsted at times.
Chris you asked if there were any disadvantages, and I did spot one possible change in sebastion’s .cfg, again not disclosed.
- Control Surface Updates set to 1 every millisecond as apposed to the default 1 every 200ms
That’s possibly a significant addition to network traffic for a sim that is already struggling to keep people with problematic connection issues.
As Malc mentioned it wold have been better to list the changes.

why i set up control surface to 1? can you read the bms manual page 243?
-
As cloud 9 said deleted the link, no prob, at least i know that i help to my squad to run falcon faster.
No se les da contento con nada bola de rqlos. -
Has nothing to do with being happy. It’s just there were other things adjusted in it that other people would probably not want and could potentially cause problems.
Yes, the “set g_bExportRTTTextures” change did help and I’m sure there are a lot of people happy about that. I as well am glad you posted a solution that worked.
There’s a rule that is old and continues to this day that is about developing and the sharing of files: Don’t post up work to others to download that is going to unknowingly alter either their game/program files or system files. To many unintended consequences. Not to mention, it has the tendency to piss(upset) people off.

Page 240
g_nRemoteControlSurfacesInterval Time in milliseconds between control surface updates over multiplayer. Valid range 20-1000. Default is 200, 0 = disabled.
Not 1, “can you read the bms manual”

Thin Skinned ? there’s no need to be insulting.
I worked in a kitchen when I was young, it was hot.

Should have mentioned the only thing I changed was the export textures setting. 50% improvement in fps ain’t bad, will hopefully make a difference in more busy environments as well. Not earth shattering, but might help a little with mud moving …
-
Just changing g_bExportRTTTextures setting pushed my FPS in the exactly same place and conditions in the air from 54 to 71. ~33% FPS increase, nice
-
of course I had per vertex lighting, no pit shadows, no heatblur, no highres textures, reduced particles etc etc - but while I had about 50 fps in 4.32 (without reduced particles), I have got 10-25 in 4.33 U2.
turning off g_bExportRTTTextures makes the sim playable for me…i am around 30 now -
Thanx, mate, FPS improvement here, too! Runs much more smooth on my rig.

Good to know it, you’re welcome

Added it to the hotlist.

I would suggest that you remove the link to your cfg file in the first post and maybe add the specific line as it is right now and as it should be to gain the fps.
That way the user will have to only copy paste the line and replace the one in cfg or just alter the value from 1 to zero which is the most correct thing to do.
If he copy paste the line at the end he will not do anything. The code finds reads and executes the first only.

Incorrect!!
The file is read and executed in entirety and order. So, if there is a duplicate entry, the LAST entry is executed whether the setting is the same or different.
Try it yourself. Go into your config file and have your set g_bPrettyScreenShot 0 set to that variable. Which is normal screen shot with overlays.
Then add the entry g_bPrettyScreenShot 1 at the end of the file, which is pretty screenshot, no overlays.
Make sure you have Show Infobar selected in Setup>Simulation
It will read the last entry and you will have a pretty screenshot!!!
Sheesh!!

I tried it in the past and that was the case. IIRC a dev also answered a question I made about it here in the forum.

Then you did something wrong. Like I said, try what I posted and you will see what is correct.
