Battle for Karpathos V0.1
Tactical Engagement (TE) for Falcon BMS 4.33U3 / Ikaros Theater 4.0.0 / 4.1.0
created by “hoover”SITREP
After a surprise and “Blitz”-like occupation of the Island of Rhodes, situated within spitting distance from the Asian coast, REDFOR has set their sights on Karpathos located about 30nm to the southwest. We suspect the island (and especially its airport; LGKP civilan) are high value assets to be used in a probable offensive targeted at the Island of Crete.Ground Forces (REDFOR)
Intelligence suggests that REDFOR has managed to land at least 4 armoured battalions within the northern area of Karpathos. We suspect some infantry and mechanized units are likely to have created a bridgehead too.Ground Forces (BLUEFOR)
Sadly we have been unable to re-inforce Karpathos units for the time being; Three air mobile operations (outbound from Souda) are planned to deploy rapid reaction battalions to the island:- Missile (TOT 7:30, “Vandal1”)
- Cavalry (TOT 6:14, “Troll1”)
- Mechanized (TOT 08:30, “Stonecat2”)
Needless to say that successful deployment of these units is of critical importance should we have any hope of stopping the invading forces, or at the very least buy Hellas / NATO some more time for further offensive operations.
Air Forces (REDFOR)
REDFOR has been surprisingly quick in facilitating Rhodes Airport for the offensive, we also suspect some bogeys inbound from Dalaman AB on the Asian Coast. Enemy airframes will most likely include- SU-33mk
- MiG-29a
- SU-25
Hostile Sentry & AAR platfoms are also very likely to operate in the area NE of Karpathos. We have credible information on planned OCA strikes targeted at Cretan bases, so keep your eyes open and intercept these packages if possible.
Air Forces (BLUEFOR)
- F-5E Tiger-II (Sitia)
- F-16C Blk 52+ HAF (Souda)
- C-130 (Souda)
- E3-Sentry (Heraklion)
- KC-10 Tanker (Souda)
- M-2000D (Karpathos)
Be advised that a civilian A320 is departing from LGKP to help with evacuation tasks alongside some C-130 transport planes.
Naval Forces
Several REDFOR frigates and destroyers are operating in the area. NATO has dispatched a Cruiser group (Ticonderoga / Spruance class ships) to patrol the seas west of Karpathos Island.Bullseye
Bullseye position is set at LGKP to provide for easy orientation on AWACS calls (0-180 degs: REDFOR; 180-364 degs: BLUEFOR, with a grain of salt as always)Download:

Extract the archive to yourAdd-On Ikaros/Campaign/Save
folder. The TE should be listed as “bfk” on the “SAVED” tab in BMS.
Known Bugs
During several test runs in 2d, red units withdrew in the face of laughable opposition and went sulkingly “reserve” to the north of Karpathos. Usually the TE works fine though with REDFOR capturing LGKP around 1500 local time.REDFOR units will be reported as “NATO” during debriefings.
I hope you enjoy the TE, and of course many thanks to the BMS devs for their tireless work on our favourite sim.

Quick heads-up: This TE will also work in 4.1.0 if you load the TE in mission commander and then save it again.
