Nooooooo way.
Sorry. Couldn’t resist. Love that bug…kinda…if it had any range…or speed…or elegance. Beauty? Ahhh whatever.

On a more serious note, thank you Tac-1 for the kudos. Much appreciated!
As for your selection Grippen: Cool. A-10: CAS/tank buster masterpiece, deserves all the love it can get. Eurofighter: In my professional life I am much too fed up with dealing with these dreadful french/german somewhat british defense conglomerates behind it almost to the point of disliking the A/C itself. That being said I do love the plane.
Nice, thanks.

In my very own and humble opinion, there is two fighters that should be made : KAI T-50 Golden Eagle and AIDC Ching Kuo. Why? Because they both use variants of F-16’s FBW and really close to similar avionics.

How hard would it be to implement new callbacks for weapon management? I mean something like: “select pylon1”, “select pylon2”, “select pylon3” and so on. That’s all we need for A-10A regarding so-called ‘avionics’.
Not hard at all. The trouble is that just doing that one thing doesn’t really do more than scratch the surface. We have the good fortune to have incredibly talented artists and the odd coder that seems to be pretty fair too. Our general philosophy for the game is to pursue “study depth” sims…in part because the commercial market can’t, in the end, really afford to do study depth the justice it deserves (you simply couldn’t afford to pay the talent applied to BMS community mod work a going commercial rate for the work because your potential market size is peanuts by comparison…actually mice nuts might be closer ;)).
Study depth to us means if you can’t do it “right” don’t do it at all. We can afford the luxury of that approach for the Viper because practically every technical document (T.O.'s of one sort of another) are these days available to the public. This is NOT true for any other interesting platform. Yes, there are NFM’s for legacy and modern Hornets that one can find and the Hornet mafia (there is one in the dev group ;)) is doing a great job combing the web for more each day but still…we are well short of what’s needed to do Hornet avionics right. That goes double for more or less any other platform you care to name, A-10 included.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that we have plenty of things to work on for the Viper world still that make doing onesy-twosey things for other platforms less of a priority. For that to really change on a large scale, we’d have to have a sudden influx of relevant docs equivalent to what we have in detail for the Viper to make it worth the team’s while going all-in on some other platform. That’s not to say you don’t or won’t see some effort in this direction – look at the flight model work for the Hornets and Harrier for instance – and of course models for non-Viper things. Just trying to be realistic for you in setting expectations.

Thank you Boxer!
Indeed, there are so many features remaining (fuel gauge & flame out, hypoxia, yaw stability during takeoff, IFF’ L16, HAD page, failure modelling … AI improvements, audio and radio improvement, terrain modelling, radar & EW modelling … etc …) and not enought ressources to start considering the unlimited task of improving all (or even few) other aircraft. Personally, I am fearing avout the fact that more and more ppl (inside the team) are asking more and more on so many diferent area, because we are less and less focussed. Spreading efforts and multiple tasks is also making things longer and longer … This is not good at all.
Let the A-10 to DCS for the moment, and please focus on the F-16 (still not completely finished) and maybe slowly consider the F-18, and basta. Be happy to have numberous new 3D models and to not ask for the moon.
Can’t do everything. Some other software has been made for this (flying many diferent aircraft with realistic and dedicated avionics), not the case of Falcon4.
Don’t waste energy trying to do everything and finally finishing “almost nothing”.So, to the question:
So, What Are The Possibilities?
I would say: the same as before. Nothing has changed.

Very well put Dee-Jay. I think it is important for all of us using this awesome software, to get such ‘peek’ into the challenges the dev team faces; as clearly many of us don’t have the slightest grasp of the efforts required. I also think that these ‘if you could have one thing in the next update….’ threads are basically a big compliment; as many people see the quality that the BMS team is able to deliver.

Wow! Looks like the whole World has been awaken…… Awesome Feedback, please keep it coming…!!
Alright, on way to work! -
I have only one question to DEVs.
How hard would it be to implement new callbacks for weapon management? I mean something like: “select pylon1”, “select pylon2”, “select pylon3” and so on. That’s all we need for A-10A regarding so-called ‘avionics’.
not sure this applies because i haven’t flown a-10 yet but in the f-16 the msl step callback does this i think. sorry if this doesn’t pertain to your question or if i misunderstand…
onto the main topic great question but i feel that questions like this put added pressure on the devs and may make some feel as if what they’re doing isn’t enough, which is not the case at all! when people who have no idea of what it takes to create these amazing works( such as myself), that we DO HAVE, start asking for more or pointing out faults it becomes seemingly ungrateful at times. i do also wonder the possibilities yet to come to us as this amazing sim flourishes, but as for me, i am more than willing to be patient as this amazing team and community continue to work together to bring us a better falcon world to experience. (food for thought, it’s not just going to benefit us but also our future generations to come, young and old…male and female, any race/religion,etc)
just my opinion but, not enough time to thank everybody for their hard work and tireless efforts for what is currently available to us-but i am so glad i found this sim and couldn’t be more proud to be a part of its community.
thanks to all
Clear skies,
Justicep.s.
i find the attitude with the wording "so called avionics" to be a little rude and ungrateful…so i just thought i would add that if the question is “HOW HARD WOULD IT BE FOR THE DEVS TO…?” then there’s multiple resources available to learn how to contribute to this yourself and a whole community of support on your new endeavor…so if it seem’s like it would be an easy task for the devs then feel free to jump in and show how its done…now if that comment was not meant as sarcasm the i apologize for my position on this but to me as i read this comment, it struck me as a jab at the people who have given us everything and haven’t asked for a dime or anything but our continued support. -
all 3D development shall stop until we have proper SU27 family modeled!

Actually many Russian planes needs update in the sim
Radium… Kai T-50 would be awesome. For some reason i like its silhouette and how it looks!
