Whitch TGA Format
-
Hi ,
want to change the picture for the Theater whitch is visible in the Theater selection Screen.
The original is in .tga format, but after editing and exporting it as tga as well it will not be visible (only with a lot of “distorsion”)
Is there a specific tga format needed and with whitch grafic software can this be done (i have GIMP 2.8 and Corel Photo Paint X7) -
I’m not sure (I don’t use GIMP), but your problem is probably in the Color Mode.
You should save as indexed (246 colors). -
From Explorer in Windows right click properties details scroll down for info.
Open with corel photo paint and see the properties.
Try some, save and test then redo till it works. Then report back. -
Save the TGA file as 8-bit, uncompressed.

Where is the theater picture stored anyways? I thought it would be in art/resource/main.rsc but I can’t find it anywhere
-
It’s one of these files, yes. If it’s the picture of the theater in the theater list, it’s with the TDF file.
Yes, TGA must be 256 colors. 16-bits as far as I remember.

mainbg.rsc
Are you sure? I’ve checked Balkans, Israel, and Korea 89 and it’s not there. art/resource/mainbg.rsc (unpacking mainbg.idx)

No, my apologies. For some dumb reason I thought we were discussing the main background splash! Sorry for the confusion! :embarrased:
