Pc will not save controller id
-
No matter what I do I can’t get my pc to save the controller ID’s and I can’t get the TM joystick in ID 0 or the throttle to ID 1 etc. Win 10 pro, using a USB hub also no help. I had 4.33 installed on the old pc and can’t get it to work on this new pc. Wasn’t there a specific folder that I could open in windows that I could manually change Controller ID positions? I’ve played all the flight sims ie, BoS, RoF, CLoD, DCS but BMS is the most awesome with the dynamic campaign scenario, I miss it and can’t wait to get it working again. In the past I was able to use DonLDuk’s profile without a problem and my pc remembered my HID usb’s every time. Every time I do get it to work it changes after every reboot. Please help someone!

In 4.33 you don’t have to worry about controller ID. Now you just edit a file named devicesorting.txt, it’s located in BMS->User->Config. Copy and cut the entries in the file so your stick and throttle are on top. If you’re using a Target Profile, the thrustmaster combine must be at the top of the list.

I’m having the same issue when I made the jump to win 10. My current work around is unplug and plug the warthog usb’s whenever I want to fly BMS.

It’s strange and I guess I got lucky but Win 10 pro seems to be remembering somehow, yet sometimes it takes a couple tries and reboots. I’ve tried everything to get it to id as “Thrustmaster Combined”, but I’ve only seen it read "Thrustmaster Virtual Game Controller (root). I’ve not given up on it, this is an awesome flight sim and worth the effort. S!

There is no need to unplug things or reboot if you setup devicesorting.txt. If u have thrustmaster virtual, just cut and paste that to the top of the list. I go over how to do it and how to fix the teamspeak bug which prevents target from working properly in my guide to morphine’s profile for 4.33
