The info on the LEFT side of your screenshot is correct; I don’t know why you have Base (1282) installed on your system…. that is wrong. It should be 4.33 U1 Base (1417). Might be a good idea to backup, then uninstall everything and re-install from scratch.

Not the answer I was looking for, but can’t shoot the messenger.
Cheers. -
Well, you can spend the next 2 hours searching for a fix or you can spend the next 20 minutes to do a backup, wipe, then reinstall from scratch, and be up-and-running again.
Nevermind the messenger, what is the more sensible thing for you to do?

Many thanks to all.
Did the re-install, and gave me an opportunity to tidy up locations and other stuff. backed up User and Save folders, and was able to restore user folder lock stock, but had to just copy in my TE’s from Save. Something in my save stopped it from starting. Couple of other setting changes and its all up and running, two installs, one for 1440x2560 (for recording) and other for 3440x1440 (batch files switch folder names and start the app). The save folder is shared folder as an MKLink on both installs. So all good again.

Where is that Base 1282 coming from? Is it a version 4.33 (before U1) or even 4.32?

Checked my setup again, and install version is good for U4 , but setup reporting 1282 again.
Reason: I’ve been copying in the old USER folder after install, and its got a file called Setup.ver, which should not be replaced. It does not affect the game, but reports incorrectly to the setup process, preventing correct patching.! -

I guess that the .ver file extracted from u4 update package you did not overwrite the original one with. A friend of mine got the same experience like yours on his new PC.
About “the correct directory” , I suggest that you should check out whether setup progam has searched a correct installation directory information.
Good lucks.

Interesting, it is an exact match for the local.ver from my installer dir to the setup.ver in my game dir.
I only copy anything callsign.*, my personal .key, phone book, and maybe falcon bms.cfg across different versions. The entire config folder is troublesome but I wouldn’t have anticipated this setup.ver issue.
Good discovery.

I really wonder how you got 4.33 base and 4.33.1 base in the same installer, knowing those 2 versions use different registry keys.
4.33 base is from before agreement with Tommo Inc. and is not even available anymore.

He might’ve downloaded it initially and didn’t think the U1 was a replacement.
