Newbie - Getting "Falcon BMS has stopper working" error message
-
Yeah, it’s the Intel Graphics holding you up. But, maybe we can work around it. Is it a straight chipset or is it a Graphics card that you can identify?
Anyway in the meantime, go into your User/Config folder and delete the dx9display.dsp file.
Then reboot BMS, the file will regenerate.
See if it still gets stuck.

Thank you - deleted the dx9display file and I’m no longer having the issue with the program crashing - and the lag is much more ‘manageable’ at ~1 second or less now. Not sure on the graphics card at the moment - I will look into this (sorry, not good with computers so I will need to consult with some more knowledgeable people). Anything else I can do as a work-around in the meantime to get a feel for if this is something I want to peruse head-on or peruse more casually (i.e. removing shadows, e3D texture, etc.) ?
Thanks again for the help!

For now, I’d turn off all Shaders in the BMS Configuration.
In game, go to Setup>Graphics and see what it says under Video Card, if anything. I’d also uncheck Multisampling while you’re there.
To see specifically what you have graphics wise, you can go into Control Panels>Hardware and Sound>Device Manager. Under Display Adapters(open it by clicking once on the arrow), there it will show what is on your rig. We can go from there.
At least you got it going somewhat!!

Would it be safe to say that ANY graphics card would do wonders for the sim? I know there’s issues with GPUs at the moment with the mining craze…. so maybe old GPUs from eBay or craigslist or Facebook might work? Anything’s better than the built-in GPU!

All it has listed under “Display Adapters” is “Intel HD Graphics.”
I turned off all shading as suggested and now there is no appreciable lag between my inputs and a response. MASSIVE improvement!
I’ll have to locate my desktop (can’t seem find anything since I moved) and see what it has in it. I know it has less RAM (2GB’s) than my laptop, but it does have an actual graphics card.
Thanks for all the help! Your help has taken me from completely unusable to usable!

Yeah, that’s a chipset. Even though the other computer may have a GFX card, you really don’t want to run BMS with a rig that only has 2Gigs of RAM……you’re better off right now sticking with the rig you have running now with 4Gigs of RAM and trying to get an inexpensive GFX card.
No problem. Cheers,

Yes, I see, I read his earlier post wrong and didn’t notice in his last post it was the other way around!!

Not much He can do but rebuild His Desk Top.
Except reduce tree & grass slider.
Turn off all Shadows/Shaders. Try to leave Per-Pixel Lighting.
Use Lower Resolution ( Less then Native)
Stay away from Campaign.
Zero Multi Sampling.Rebuild Desktop.
