SU-27’s default skin was awfull to me, so i played a little with PS and made a new one:
If you like it, you can get it from here:
http://hotfile.com/dl/131457533/b900643/SU-27.rar.html
Installation is very easy. Just copy-paste all .dds files to “Data/Terrdata/Objects/KoreaObj”. Make sure you have a backup of this folder just in case.

very cool nice work….now onto the mig 29?
-
Very good job mate, thankyou indeed
-
Hm…
It looks nice, but I reminds me the skin of AF. I hope it did not come from AF because of legal issues. (?) -
I too, Molnibalage. But until it would be proven against, thanks for sharing your work, Copper.
-
Thanks man!

Great skin, Copper!
Guys, I wouldn’t worry too much about a direct port from AF; this skin uses 1024x1024 textures; AF uses 512x512 (as do the stock BMS). Had he pulled the textures from AF, there would be no reason to up-rez them to 1024.
Besides, that pattern is the standard Russian AF sky camo pattern, so some similarity between AF (and LOMAC for that matter) is to be expected.

Submit it to BMS for future updates…

Only the top section of vertical stabilizers are different…

Not true. I can see several differences. If he used it as a template to work from, WHO CARES???
So now you’re the SKIN POLICE. Great, another thing well have to listen to you ramble on about and :dhorse:

awww so what?! who cares. AF is a commercial product and LP is no more now. Data, skin, resources… many goodies to be used still.

No, just Bander said me something abouk skin usage. In this case can we adopt FF sking + LODs for BMS…???

FWIW, I do not believe that is a good philosophy to hold when it comes to intellectual property. Are you likely to get sued for using AF property?..no. Is it the right thing do?..no.
The BMS team, IMHO, has gone through great pains to ensure this version of Falcon was not impinging on the IP rights of anyone including LP. And when it has, it sought quickly to rectify the problem (witness the theatre conversion incident).
The one departure that BMS have allowed themselves is the code itself and that may even be allowed under fair use.
FWIW, integrity should trump gratification.

BMS?.. They should have their own policy and what we say shouldn’t affect it anyway…

Gentlemen, chill out please.
Since the 3d model is the same on both sims, i used AF’s skin only as a template to determine camo and a/c shape. The skin posted here, obviously, is not official/copywrited by me. No one is gonna force you to use it if you don’t like it.
It’s just something i made for my own comfort and wanted to share it with the community.

Copper can you re-save to DXT1?…
current skin has double file size, or is it a quality concern???

@RAM22:
I believe I said that.:D
RAM22Yes indeed.

Didn’t knew the exact .dds compression parameters, so i chose DXT5.

I reckon DXT1 is better, since skins in database are usually those.
