Osprey Combat Aircraft 61 - “F-16 Fighting Falcon Units of Operation Iraqi Freedom” by Steve Davies & Doug Dildy is another great read about F-16 operations and the roles of the different blocks (strikes vs weasels etc.). OIF is the most recent large scale conflict against a state with modern SAMs, and reading about tactics in the book is good for when learning in the simulator.

Thinking about buying VITS, but the reviews seem hit and miss. It seems to have a lot of personal drama in it; I just want a good book about sorties in the Viper, not a story about a pilot and his home life. Worth a buy, those that have read it?

I suggest the book of Don Hampton. Sure, there are always some autobiographical parts about familiy, education and anecdotes.
Hampton described a lot of combat missions in the second and third Gulf War (1990-91 & 2003).
