Adjusting the X-Axis on TrackIR
-
BMS’ers,
Finally got my TrackIR up and running this weekend. However when “in game”, my centered POV is too close to the HUD. In other words, all I see is the HUD and the very top buttons of the ICP (COM1, COM2, etc). I would like to have it adjusted so I can see about the top 1/3 of the MFDs. How can I adjust so my POV is a little farther back?
Thanks in advance
GW

You can go into the BMS Config.exe. Go to\General \FOV ….open tab & try out a couple of settings.
-
I use the scroll wheel on my mouse to adjust the FOV, when necessary.
-
Another quick option is to lean forward, then hit F-12 to recenter the TrackIR, then lean back to my normal position.

Just to correct the title, this is actually the Z axis.

Check configs on bms. You can use track-ir to change fow or use it as pilot head z-axis. Biggest change is how hud is shown. Try both and use what u like better.
Playloud’s trick is same that I use.

I know I was just correcting him in that it is not the x axis

X-axis is lateral position, Y-axis is vertical position, Z-axis is longitudinal position (or FOV optionally). Assuming that you have correctly identified the Z-position as problematic. There’s not much you can do. There’s no way to change the default position (in X Y or Z).
The common solution is to recenter when not at your relaxed position. By centering at a position other than your relaxed one you relax into the non-default position. You might lean forward, center, and then when you lean back you’re farther away.
