Hud, eyebrow, comms i never get them to start
-
dear readers,
I have been looking for an answer on the following:
Whenever i want to startup the instruments/avionics, i have issues getting some things to work.
My hud and eyebrow never turn on, ever. I can rotate the wheel(SYM) to turn on the hud, nothing.
But the comms radio also do not work, it does not light up green when rotating the button.
ANd contacting the tower remains dead, confirming the radio is indeed off. I did set up the tower in the datacartridge for UHV and VHF, on the airfield im at.I have read somewhere that doing a clear on the testpage could help.
But where is this test page? Is is the test panel on the left side of the cockpit?
And if yes, where is the clear button.
Now i did try all kinds of switches on that test panel, but nothing did the trick.
I also read that pressing the master switch and then twice F-ACK could work, but not in my case.
WHen i experience these issues, there are no warnings showing. I have cleared the electrics and cool equip warning (i turn on the airco before starting up the engine)
I only recently upgraded to 4.33 but i cannot remember having these issues ever.
Admitted, its been a two years after playing 4.32 intensively for at least a year.
I have put in already around 3 hours of work trying to get it fixed, even removed Falcon BMS completely and doing a fresh install.
Also looking tutorial vids on YT again, but i don’t see what im missing here.
Doing a testflight, starting airborne, i can confirm the hud, eyebrow and the rest are working fine. What am i doing wrong?

have you turned on the main power switch?
The UHF radio needs the UHF switch set to BOTH ideally. Turn the COM1 and COM2 volume up a notch or six.
The TEST page is an MFD format. I dont think it will prove relevant to your issue, but the middle top OSB (OSB 3) is the CLR button on the TEST page. Pressing that clears all the recorded faults experienced so far (used in BMS to clear the faults you experience during engine startup).
Its interesting you say there are no warnings showing as its normal to get a few during startup - at the very least, SEAT NOT ARMED or similar. If you have the AIR SOURCE set to NORM, that shouldnt be causing an issue either.
I would suggest following a checklist for your startup. If you find an item that you dont understand, that is probably the missing step causing your woes.

Dont forget to turn te backup switch to ufc on the left side of the pit maybe it is still in backupmode.

What bluewolf said. Follow the checklists exactly. Sounds like you’re missing a switch at some point.

Thanks all for the replies, i will get back to my homework then.
I will reply here with any update, succesful or not. -
maybe RTFM and apply the correct ramp start procedure with a proper checklist ?

Study this tutorial:

No disrespect to Krause, but it’s generally a bad idea to point to tutorials for 4.32. Supanova has a good one, so besides RTFM, look
.Anyway small tip, to use the back-up radio, look up the correct UHF frequency for the airfield in question, enter it in the back-up radio, set to BOTH and MN, make sure your selector switch is set to back-up and you’re good to go on the back-up UHF radio (Comm1 volume knobs open of course). Before you load DTS however make sure you set radio from back-up to UFC (up front controls) or the frequencies will not load into the flight computer.

Late reply, but ive fixed my problems here. You helped me out big time.
THanks to all!!
