How to use RDR CURSOR/ENABLE
-
Well, you need the cursors axes to be enabled in the hotas control panel, and then you need them to be assigned to the radar cursor axes in the BMS controllers advanced setup.
-
Sorry for necroposting, but… how to enable those axes?! I can see only six axes availble for TM Cougar now.
EDIT: OK, I have figured it out… kinda… can someone make a screenshot of working Cougar Control Panel? Below configuration works for me, partially. I mean I can read all axes, but this configuration does not work for BMS - somehow physical axes are glued to BMS axes and cannot be changed. Also, the names are not intact in the BMS.
If I select the default plus microstick X and Y on axes 7 and 8 then I can read all axes, but those two…

Don’t forget ingame to adjust the following too:

Thank you!
Yes, exactly! Why you have to set for example “Toe Brake Left” to “Cursor X” while you have, an axis called “Cursor X” I might be purist here, but you know…

Just enabled Dunc’s profile and couldn’t figure out how to make the axis work in falcon.

Excellent info!
However, following this guideline the Cougar toe brakes don’t show as an option in BMS setup.

They do for me. Though the X axis iirc is inverted and overall it’s a bit funky it’s guidance not so smooth and u must see where it goes to make corrections. Maybe has to be recalibrated.
As I recall from the way PAAAAAAAST when u calibrate the microstick better to have throttle like in full mil position.Same for Antenna elevation regarding the inverted.
About those inverted can’t they be declared in the first place and not have to re make the selections?
About the range… doesn’t work in AA and u have to use cursor move up and down to alter the range on the fcr or the MFD buttons? Edit: reply: yes only in ground mode.
Why is that exactly? cursor is slower than the range knob. -
Still dont see the Cougar “toe brakes” in BMS setup to map to the cursors x and y…
This baffles me; shouldnt BMS see this microstick as an axis by default?

You have likely not configured the Cougar Control Panel correctly.
(This is all there in the manual, btw)
You need to enable the microstick axes in the CCP, and you need to ensure that only 8 axes at most are enabled. The CCP and Foxy can handle more than 8 axes, but the DirectInput drivers used for the Cougar cannot. So Windows, which presents input for BMS, will only show the first 8 axes listed.
By default, the CCP does not present any ‘extra’ axes at all, so no, by default BMS should not see the microstick as an axis. The price you pay for having a highly programmable (not just configurable) HOTAS.

Don’t forget ingame to adjust the following too:
Will try this and advise results cheers

This worked, cheers, what I was missing was I didn’t have the “apply” check box filled.
