Raptor 007 utility
-
Have been using this utility for the x52pro for a while with AF then wondered if it would work with BMS. Great it all works really well, only thing I can’t get working is heading to threat and threat lethality. Does anyone know if it can be read in BMS…Thanks

Isn’t it the thing that display cockpits info in the Saitek MFD and change its colour too ?
If it is, does it work with the Saitek X52 (not pro) ? -
yeah thats the one, can change all leds on joystick and throttle for different conditions. Displays all kinds of data in throttle mfd, such as wind speed/dir, fuel time and distance left, loads of stuff. Figured out now I think, was flying campaign tonight and vector to threat was working so perhaps it does not work in training, don’t know why that would be. Yes it works or the x52 pro
-
Hum… thanks for the answer but I said does it work for the “X52 (not pro)”
Not the Black one but the Grey one.
-
Not sure about that one, I dont think so but may be wrong

Works fine on my X52Pro but don’t use it any more very handy tool tho.

Afaik, upgrading to the latest X52 controller software from saitek makes your x52 an x52 pro, in software functionality. For instance, it enables you to program the clutch button as a functional button, as it works on the Pro.
Due to not having a tool to convert the old profile to the new, and I didn;t want to spend too much time on programming before learning BMS, I de-installed it and reverted back to the old software, that came on the CD. This reversal procedure is not easy, be aware of that, when installing the new soft. But it should upgrade your X52 to the functionality of the Pro.
Edit: don’t take my word on it, since I haven’t fully tested it. I’m planning on making a whole new profile in the new software some day soon. And I’ll look into the possibilities of that software. As far as I know, when I did use it in the past, the LED’s were only the original blue color.
Do you have a link to that software?

That link is dead. I did a search in the meantime. It seems he took this file down, and in some forum they talk about that he isn’t planning on making a new one for BMS. Could you share this somehow, if his Eula supports that?

Did some more research on the X52 versus the pro.
It seems their software and drivers are backward compatible.
Downloading the latest drivers for either the Pro or the regular gives the same files. The main difference in electronics is the MFD on the throttle of the Pro, and its functionality to display multiple pages compared to the old X52. The other difference is the lights… I’m not sure if the blue lights can change color, but they should be able to be dimmed and have flickering effects. I’ll have to actually convert to the new software to be sure, and that means creating my profile for BMS all over again. An then hope it still works…
Anyways, since it’s backward compatible and the same software and drivers, you could probably do anything the software allows you to do, when selecting the old X52. It turns out, after some reading that Saitek hardware department was already finished with the X52 pro, but the software dept. hadn’t made the software yet, so do check that you have the latest, especially for the Pro version.

In case anyone is still looking for this (Saitek’s forums seem to have been shut down) I found the author’s homepage here:

Cool utility for those with X52pro… Not many of the sticks out there have visual feedback from the sim.

The T-Flight Thrustmaser X is all you need, let memories of inferior sticks melt away, they serve no purpose here.
