Ptype 20 Cockpit Lights issue
-
Hello Guys
I’m kinda stuck in an issue in past 2 days.
Im dofing and switching the AJET and it’s going very well, but as i’m doing the switches for the interior lights ( LG lights, JFS lights, Caution Lights, NWS, etc etc) i have the following issue:
Switches are correct in terms of number and link inside 3DS. Assigned as Ptype 20 for glow day and night. In viewer they are correct and working, but in 3D world the just dont light up as i command so.
Also .dds texture is assigned with the proper alfa channels.
I´ve tried another pit (F-16 MLU) in the same Ac (same acdata) and lights worked, so i Believe that its something between 3DS and conversion that i’m not aware of.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

maybe ptype 22 instead of ptype 20?
Hey Nuno? what do u say?
hmmm maybe wrong…
ptype 22 was for buildings to display night texture - model. -
maybe ptype 22 instead of ptype 20?
Hey Nuno? what do u say?Isnt Ptype22 only for RTT displays (HUD, MFD, RWR etc)?
Also how do i assign single vertex in 3DS instead of per vertex?

Regarding the single vertex solved.
But the problem its not in the Ptype definition.
Ptype its working ok in BMS but when assigned to a light switch (for example S138 JFS light) it simple dont lit when requested.
Without switch texture apear ok day and night.
Something to do with dat files?

Try looking into WaveyDave’s 3DS exporter files.
There’s some .txt file containing exporter and ptype information, I think. Also, I remember I read somewhere that the cockpit RTT .dds textures have to be numbered as 9999.dds, or something…
Could be related?
Just thoughts, unexplored territory for me

Don’t think so mate
PType is correct and working. Only when applying a light switch doesn’t work.
I’m clueless on this one. Can’t be RTT texture because it need to be textured acordly.
Hope someone has an answer to this one

The rtt is only for the screens (MFDs) try ptype 21 as for test purposes… check switch numbers match the description of the function as the name of the switch in waveydave’s documents are a little confusing. Make sure you have the hotspots applied correctly. Hotspots also cause things to not propely work.
Check whether you have created a 3d layer of the light, linked in the switch properly ( from 3d model to switch ) and not the opposite. I will keep posting as I remember

Problem Solved.
I make a stupid mistake. I copy/paste the switches and remane them. Switch count were not being accountable after import.
