Need your help with setting up Thrustmaters MFD's
-
Hey Gents
I could really use your help. I have a 49 inch LED TV/ Monitor and I have these two 7 inch led with my MFD’s on top of them I have them set up for my DCS but now I would like to set them up for my BMS. Can someone please explain to me or show me a tutorial on how to get this to run properly without the MFD’s showing on the bottom of my Monitor. I would like to have my main screen as my game hud and then the two MFD’s to show on my 7inch MFD’s …I hope I explained that OK.
Here’s a pic of my set up

Just an update I’m trying to use the RTTremote tool in the Falcon Folder but Im not sure of my coordinates for the 2 -7 inch monitors. From my pic posted you can see that both of my small screens are more or less looking at the middle of my monitor. Can someone post their setting if their setup looks like mine. Im not sure as to what Im even doing…lol

Anyone know how to make from the post above make the screen larger, since I got my MFD’s to work the 2d screen shrunk to what you see in the pic. I can’t read the map screen when in game. Can I open the BMS cfg file and change it there? Any feedback is welcomed.

I don’t think you can; that’s the trade off going windowed. I don’t like it either.

Wow shame but thanks Stalker I appreciate your feedback buddy

if you really want the 2d to be bigger, have to get creative:

Thanks bro I’ll look into that tonight

Well I tried Gas but no joy man its still stays small no matter what I try…I havent tried that software cause I really dont want to add more crap in my system…Theres has to be a way to make the 2d screen larger.

Where did you get thr the 7" screens?

I picked mine up off eBay
7” lilliput monitors -
I would really appreciate it if you could post how you got yours working. I am at a loss as to how to set the left, top, height and width values from the cockpit display extraction tool in the BMS launcher. I also use mine for DCS. Here is a picture of my setup…Both Cougar MFDs are attached to a single 11" monitor located below my main 42" screen. Resolution on the 11" monitor is 1920x1080.

Try MFDExtractor. its a stand alone App that doesn’t need windowed mode to be used. Or any BMS Export settings used, you just tell it where BMS is and away you go.
set g_bExportRTTTextures 1 remains set active.
I’m using MFDExtractor v0.6.3.0 See here
If you do use it I can help with fine tuning to minimize FPS loses, and eliminate and stutter that might occur.

Here is a thread where I tried everything to get the screens to work, but in the end I just returned them, and hope to use the money to buy an ICP from Viper Gear. I hope this thread helps and you get them to work!

Thanks, Shadow…I will try this asap.

Shadow…could I trouble you for step by step instructions please? I downloaded the MFDExtractor program you linked to. Installed it and then ran it. When I ran it, two MFD windows popped up and I was able to move them and stretch them to fit where I want them to go on my secondary monitor to fit the cougar panels. Then I ran BMS, but it took forever to load and seemed to hang up. What other steps are necessary in order to properly configure.
Thanks!

As you were…I think I got it to work. Any way to make the position stick so that I don’t have to re-position the MFDs every time I load the program?
-
Once you have it setup it shouldnt move again…At least mine hasnt…
-
Mine remember where they are to go.
On the startup tab do you have "Start extracting when this program is launched. ??
And OR are you 7" screen active before you start MFDe , don’t tick “Launch auto when Windows starts”.
And/Or are you clicking “Apply” in the “options window” after you finish placement of the outputs ?
Can’t think of much else.
