beefed?
what do u mean beefed…???you couldn’t have more…
Just new monitor at 144Hz is missing from your setup.beefed he said…

Well, on my own side I’m always at 61 fps at least, no matter of any weather conditions I’m flying in - night included, I mean, - with all the graphic options set at their maximum.
But I have to tell that I’m running BMS with a RTX 2080 Ti, and my PC/system is a little ‘beefed’ on its own - I owe an Intel [email protected] GHz with a proper ROG MB, 32 GB of G-Skill [email protected] GHz, a 1TB Samsung SSD drive…
Trinkets of this kind, you know :lol:Wiht best regards.
Do you have your FPS clamped to your monitor refresh rate (61 fps / 60Hz) ? Because with that setup, you could nearly pin it at 240 FPS if you have a monitor that could keep up…. A setup that fancy deserves a fast gaming monitor. Unless your answer is that you’re using a 4K monitor, in which case, yea 61 fps is commendable, but IMHO way ahead of it’s time while still being not as fast as gaming monitors. I can’t wait until 4K 120Hz+ gaming monitors become the “thing”.
Killer setup, bro!!

i want to see what the next updates or the next patches will include gfx wise 4.34 was not a success in that matter
AS said something that i agree for simulators below 50 fps you should eject
-
Well even in 4k 60fps with that monster pc is super low.

Hi, there, Semler.
Thanks for your appreciation, bro - I have my ideas about how my PC has to be.
And yes, BTW I forgot to mention that I have a Philips 27" 4K monitor as well, set at 3240 etc. and 60 Hz.
I agree with you, just can’t await to see what good 4.34 can do when updated to more ‘modern’ graphical standards… but this is another story.
It won’t come out easy, but there already devs. at work on that, I guess
Take care and always have great fun ‘up there’. Hope to fly together one day. With best regards.

I have to agree with you, dear Arty.
In light of your well known experience, what would you like to suggest me to improve its performances?
Thanks in advance!With best regards.

I wish i could help Jackal. But by the years my hw expertise starts to fade away.
I don’t even know well the new hw models and their pros and cons.
I believe there are others more capable than me that could suggest you.
If the list narrowed down maybe i could look on their specs to compare them, but so many new features i even wonder… are they really needed?
For me where my setup also most of time tops at 61fps everything is fine. I don’t have the means to purse something better and if you don’t actually use something its hard to be 100 sure it will be ok.I had a leapmotion controller collecting dust from day one it was released, amd now that i can use it finally, i dont have the time.
So if your experience is enjoyable, saddle with it.
Rumors say that Asus monitors rock on… that’s what i heard from Linus videos. But will it be that worth all that money? How much greater the experience will be? Is it worth the money?
He even wonders on his videos, and the sweet spots are on such details that for me personally is insane.
Sure if i had the money i would go for it, cause its in our diversity, like one wants to climb everest. So you went to everest… So what? What is your personal inner gain from it?Personally i would go for 3 monitors. Not 4k 120+hz. I favor much the 1200 vertical resolution and consider it the sweet spot for flight Sims. But maybe this is cause that’s my reach.

Dear Arty,
here is confirmed that I did really well to ask your advise about this matter.
I couldn’t agree more on your points, no one of them excluded. And this told not only because I do think the same as yours
It’s just because they’re of common sense, so sharable as well.
By the way, I’m afraid I can’t afford the three monitors solution because I haven’t room enough for them at home, but I even can fly the same without, I guess. Thanks a lot, dear friend, once more.
With best regards.

Note: first post is OLD… maybe still a good guide, but few things may have changed, i.e how to do Anti-Aliasing…
-
Hey A.S. thx for tip, things look and run great. How about FSAA though?

So what? I said that because my PC doesn’t like fish at all… as just as my cats, you see

Agree. To say the least, I guess…

Smart question, this one.
I could even share gladly my own presets, but: I don’t think they might be the most satisfying one can find out about, and they are made for my 2080 Ti, most of all. Please let me test them a little more, then, if they are suitable for all, we will see…With best regards to all.

I have not tried FSAA, DSR or Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) on BMS yet. I am just running 8X AA and 16x AS enforced over gfx-card - disabled in game.
In fact, i have not flown anything for the last 5 month and as i type this, i am just about to setup and try 4.34 the first time ever(Aorus RTX 2080 XTREME WATERFORCE) …
-
I did it instead, A.S…. and I’m doing still with some other settings, to be honest.
Even if there are promising premises, it’s only premature to see if I really had something good or not in return.
There is too much to keep in mind, first of all that my 2080 Ti has its own behavior with a sim of an age like Falcon is, you know.As said, and promised, before… I will see, and if I find something interesting and useful for the whole Community, I’ll share it gladly.
With best regards.

Gentlemen,
here is my own first personal update.
Always premised that I’m using a nVidia GFX 2080Ti for these tests, I regret to inform you that FSAA doesn’t work in Falcon, as I guessed… but please let me be clear about: this is not a BMS fault, absolutely.
It’s instead how FSAA works: AFAIK, and I may be wrong of course, it does only if its functions have been implemented correctly by the graphics devs. in their game.
And this is not the case, but - let me be even more clear on this point - it’s not ‘our’ devs’ fault.
It’s only because BMS is made this way, at this moment. And, you may like it or not, that’s all, so it must be accepted ‘as it is’…More news further.
When she thinks you’re watching porn in the bathroom ,but you are scrolling the BMS -1
Wait a minute, mate: ‘who’ are you talking about, here? My nVidia doesn’t think bad at all…
With best regards to all.
-
with latest BMS version …
- disable anisotropic filtering and multisampling in the BMS UI
-
make a profile for BMS in nVidia control panel
-
and enforce anisotropic filtering (8x or 16x)
-
and enforce antialiasing (4x or 8x)
-
if you still have “too low FPS” for your liking, try the following in the BMS Configuration (balance between performance and quality is target in following picture)
Oh! worth mentioning !!!
- MFAA = OFF
- FXAA = OFF
- max. per-rendered frames = 1
- Texture filtering Quality = HIGH
- LOD Bias = CLAMP
- Trilinear Optimization = OFF
- anisotropic scanning optimization = OFF
-
Well done and detailed as well, thanks.
At this point I would test what happens after reducing tree and grass density at medium level both, though. [emoji6]With best regards.

Would you suggest turning off focus shadows as well for additional FPS?
-
If this yours above is addressed to me, well… a try won’t hurt anyone, you know.
With best regards.

Yes, I found this to be effective in my pc configuration. Under shadow mapping, I only have cockpit shadows on. Any setting in the configurator that reduces cpu load (such as reduced particles) seems to help much greater than any graphics setting (in nvidia panel).
What I’d like to know is which of the following in falcon bms advanced options is hitting the cpu- shouldnt the gpu be handling all these cases now and these should actually be turned off?:
1. mipmapping
2. linear mipmap filtering
3. texel bias fix
4. textured tv/ir <–maybe don’t turn this off
