Idle Thrust Taxi
-
Yes I tried without a joystick, rudder, & throttle connected and it does the same. I used default key mappings and tested with only the keyboard. Maybe I am misunderstanding; when I release the parking brake the aircraft should start moving slowly without pushing the throttle as in real life, correct? I always have to push the throttle forward a bit to get it moving.
Thank you
When you enter the aircraft you need to move the throttle in order for the game to take it into account
If you don’t do that , thrust will remain zero
And yes this is on purpose

“Do what I say please: Start moving the a/c … then stop it and then see …”
I did this already, same result.

Ok understand, Thank you
So aircraft does not taxi until you move thrust. That’s at anytime in the sim. That is what I meant in my original post; in the real aircraft you start moving once park brake is off.

no, once you have moved your throttle once and put back idle, if you release the parking brake, the AC will start to move, as in real.
This is of course depenant on GW

Ok I have a clean weight (no external load) and the F-16 (block 50) won’t move unless I push the throttle up. Let’s forget about the first time when you get in sim, I get that. If I taxi around the field at no time will it ever start moving unless I push the throttle up.
I have no joystick, rudder, or throttle connected so no interference from that. Park brake off, no movement until I get lightly above 72%. Once I start moving the aircraft continues with no problem. Stop, release brakes, no movement again.

i suggest you try a block50 clean with 4000 Lbs of fuel

Will try this later on today, Thank you

I think one of the things newer players need to remember is to always wiggle the throttle when the game first starts up so that the game recognizes the throttle.
I’m not sure if this was said, but make sure the parking break is off, and the chocks are removed.

Just to add that in a not-clean-aircraft if you select SEC engine mode, the engine exhaust pedals will close and the extra “thrust” generated is sufficient to move the aircraft.

Finally got it to work with clean weight and < 5,000 LBS of fuel. If less than 5,000 LBS of fuel then all I have to do is release the park brake and it starts to move. If > 5,000 LBS of fuel then the aircraft won’t move unless a notch of power is applied.
Thank you
