The VPC MongoosT-50 Throttle
-
Does anyone know if BMS 4.34 recognizes all of the inputs from this throttle? I am considering it but don’t want to have the same issues that I have with my current Warthog.
Thanks. -
Yes, I have it. With the new VPC software you can “split” the throttle in 2 devices, so you can avoid the 32 buttons limitation like this (that is what I do)

Hi waichou. Thanks for the response. I am trying to fly on 6thVFW Discord. I am known as Ransom there. I am an active corporate pilot so I am hit and miss. Discord is a bit cumbersome for me. Virpil is very slow shipping. I have WarBRD base coming but I ordered that three weeks ago. I will wait on the throttle. Their software looks overwhelming at first glance (youtube)

Thanks.Kerfuffle - Just curious as I was thinking of getting the Warthog setup, what issues are you having?

Hi Icer. Primarily, without third party software the POV switch on the throttle is not mappable. The stick is very loose in pitch. But I am overly fussy. The Virpil WarBRD is in my opinion a much better stick

That isn’t true. The hats are map able if you use TARGET which is TM software not third party.

You are correct of course. I should be ore careful with my responses. So, the POV hat is not mappable unless you use TARGET which is software external to BMS. I guess that my point is I would rather open a vein than use TARGET.

Which is your choice of course. However if you are going to get a HOTAS with a bunch of switches you will ALWAYS run into that kind of problem as it is a DX issue nothing specific to any HOTAS manufacturer. Waichou’s reply above just points to that as you will always need to run something external to BMS to get around those issues. You cannot blame TM, Saitek, Logitech, etc. etc. for a Microsoft Windows limitation.

I use Voice Attack to map POV hat as comms switch just like in real Viper HOTAS. It is still external software but since it is already use for voice commands, it is already in use and just become extra useful!

Blame? I just don’t like TARGET software.

Hey, that is a good idea. I use Voice Attack but never thought of using it that way. Thanks.
