Wrong ACDATA FILES ! error
-
Hi folks,
when trying to connect to the 72nd VFW server I got the error “Wrong ACDATA FILES !”
So I RTFM and read the forums and my conclusion is that it is because I messed around a bit in the Avionics Configurator.
My problem is: I am trying to get it back to default but still the error occurs.
I read this thread https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?23473-Avionics-Configurator-useful-knowledge with this:
4/ I played around with ACfg and wish to return to the default configuration, can I ?
Yes you can. Edit -> Set Default, then Menu -> Apply Profile.
The default settings will apply to the aircraft(s) you are currently modifying. If you are in the F-16 variants mode, all F-16 will return to the default configuration. If you loaded a particular FM file, it will return only this FM file to default. But I am confused by the line “If you are in the F-16 variants mode, all F-16 will return to the default configuration.”
When I have no block selected the Set Default option is greyed out. If I click one ket (e.g. Block 30 PW220) and hit Set Default, does it apply only to Block 30, or to all?
Even so, I went into every single block, hit set default, and apply profile. One by one all of them. Still I get this error.
Is there any other problem that can cause the error mentioned above? Because, I have NEVER connected BMS online to a server before so just want to make sure it isn’t some other problem (server not online, ports forwarding not working somehow etc).
If there is no other possible cause other than my earlier messing with the Avionics Configurator, can somebody generate a default .ACfg file for me? OR somehow make it clear to me how to get the normal settings reverted because so far I seem to be failing.
Thanks very much!

Actually I mispoke on the post above - the default configuration of all blocks is not saved, it only returns all values to the “code” defaults.
Give me 2 mins to generate a default ACFG profile, I’ll post it here and in the “useful knowledge” thread.

Other thread edited as well.

Thanks, it worked like a champ!
Maybe an idea to include it standard in the installation? (although since I seem to be the first one to run into this issue, maybe I was the only one dumb enough to start tinkering without backing up the default :wfish: ) haha

Actually that’s not a bad idea… we’ll see

Does anyone have a baseline avionics config file for 4.34 by any chance?
Have been switching between 3 different installs and MP does not like the clean install at all.

That would be very appreciated!

Have you tried “Set Default” option in AVC?

I had a very similar problem, after playing with the avionics configurator…. wrong acdata, even after I copied the acdata files back which were untampered it would default back to what I set. In the end the ONLY way I managed to get it back to normal was to create a new pilot… Then everything remained as it should. Just in case someone else is stuck on the same issue…
