GBU-12s not tracking
-
I’ve read through the manual and watched numerous videos and followed them step by step, but no matter what I do I cannot get a GBU onto a target. I have the target locked on the TGP, I wait for the second release cue and drop the bomb just fine, but it never hits the target. I watched it through the shift 7 cam and the bomb doesn’t even move its fins at all! It’s like the laser isn’t firing, but it is as indicated by the L on the hud. I’ve made sure to put the laser in combat mode, master arm is on and laser arm is also on. I even tried manually lasing it the whole way but it never changed direction once. I would really like to be able to use the GBUs, but I cant figure it out.

what’s your laser code?

Brainstorming…Verify that the laser code in the DED matches the code in the loadout screen. Damn slow thumb typing

Have you checked if the code is correct? In the loadout page you can find the right code (1511, IIRC, for the training mission).
Good luck! -
Not sure anyone thought of telling you already, but did you check your laser code?
By the way, you’re not saying the “L” is blinking, but it is?…
-
Like everyone else said make sure laser code is correct, make sure laser arm is set to “Arm”, and also check that laser is set to CMBT and not TNG
-
Guys, we really need to read the initial message
I’ve made sure to put the laser in combat mode, master arm is on and laser arm is also on.
With that information in mind, is it really necessary to mention the laser arm, combat mode and master arm?
The OP obviously ruled these out, he made his Homework (well, a big part of it at least), let’s take that into account so our answers remain constructive
Well, repeating 4 times that the issue might be the laser code is not quite constructive either but hey very often guys (not the OP, but others ) miss the first few tries, not true Lorik ?

(it’s my time saver feature)
Ninja’d by Red Dog. I couldn’t save his time….
Edit: Red Dog, yes I was totally sarcastic about that. Can’t help. Also I had something to ask, or I wouldn’t have posted for that reason only

Apparently it makes sense for everyone to ask you if your laser code is correct. So I am joining in with the stupidity… Is your laser code correct?

I will make sure that the code is right, but when I checked on the list menu or whatchamacallit both codes read 1688. Thanks to you all for answering, btw

The L is blinking, yes.

More importantly, are the DED TGT code and loadout code the same, 1688 or whatever it is?

The codes matched in the DED, and I just tried it again with 1511 as the code, but still no luck. I can try to show a video of what I’m doing to see if maybe I’m just missing too much for the bomb to land. I can bomb with CCIP just fine, so I don’t think thats the issue, but I could be wrong.

Lol Lorik, This wasn’t my meaning. I meant to remind you a post a few weeks ago where you got frustrated saying the correct answer on post #2 and ppl were posting and posting until the point where someone else at post 41 finally said the same than you and the OP acknowledged
Forum can be frustrating at times
Felix,
To fix the laser code issue, you must ensure that your laser code (TGP code) in your DED match the code of the bombs which you get at arming screen before going in the cockpit.
It’s not the two lines in the DED that need Matching. the fist one ois the TGP code (the one that should match the arming screen code) the second line is the LST code (laser Spot tracking) used when you want to see your wingman laser spot. So that’s something else
So your laser can guide bombs only when both are on the same code.
So flying with LGB, you ALWAYS must check the bomb codes at arming screen and use that for guidancethe training manual explains all that in the LGB mission

You know what I say Red Dog, people have their answers more than newcomers have their questions…. I totally remember that.
Felix was probably posting while I was doing so, let’s see if your proposal to check loadout and mine add or substract each others
