Problems with looking around in the 3d cockpit
-
I’ve been trying to get into Falcon BMS, but have ran into a problem. After searching the interwebs and finding nothing,I figured I’ll ask here. For some unknown reason I cannot move my head in the 3D cockpit. I have made sure all keybinds are fine, and everything is set up correctly. Funnily enough the 2d cockpit works just fine, but no chance I’ll learn how to fly that in a 2D environment.
Here’s a pic I think will be necessary, I’m not sure if I need to post anything else. If you need anything else, ask. Oh, and no I don’t have TrackIR.P.S. If theres an easy solution on a sticky somewhere, I should’ve used search and am wasting your time then I’m sorry. I’ve skimmed through the forum and didnt find anything. And I’ve tried freelook with my mouse, but either I dont have it bound properly or I don’t have enough buttons.

in setup>>controller>>advance, leave “sticky 3D snapview” UNCHECK, and CHECK “clickable 3D ckpit default”, and select “relative snap” under “3D movement”.
u can look around with “view-rotate” key. -

u can look around with “view-rotate” key.Tried it, 3D cockpit still isn’t working. I give up. Do I really have to use TrackIR to move around in the 3d cockpit?

What is your HOTAS or joystick?
Does it have a POV hat?
What keyfile have you loaded? -
Joystick.
It has a POV hat.
AFAIK it’s the standard keyfile. I didn’t change anything. -
why not trying change sth? define the “view-rotate” key u want.
and u can rotate with holding RMB too. -
Rotating by holding RMB doesnt work too. And it seems I don’t have a view rotate key; I have 4, each for one direction. I’ve set them to my POV hat, but still doesnt work.

Do the external view rotation work for you? if it does then you need to rename the Trackir/Freetrack/FacetrackNOIR folder you had installed at some point before and you’ll have cockpit view rotation. Another possibility is to search for their registry entries in Regedit and delete them, but you should refrain from that unless you know what exactly you are doing.

Thanks Snowfox. This is the advice which i was looking for. Rename FacetrackNOIR folder solved the problem.

Where is this Track IR folder location?
I never installed any track IR and exactly the same problem.
