Mouse Cursor Speed in 3D Cockpit
-
Hey guys.
I’m still just getting in to Falcon BMS. I used to fly Jane’s F-15 and LOMAC, but have recently found this great sim. Anyways, one thing that I can’t seem to figure out is how to increase the cursor speed within the 3D clickable cockpit. I went into the configuration and chose 200% cursor speed, but that only seemed to effect external views. Within the setup I also tried to adjust the mouse-look sensitivity, but again that seems to affect only exterior views of the airplane. I’ve watched Karuse’s video tutorials, and his cursor seems to be nice and quick, just like it would be on the computer desktop. My mouse cursor is nice and fast and smooth out of game, but within the cockpit it is rather sluggish and slow to move around and click on things. Any suggestion?
Thanks!

I’d like an answer to this too. I have the same issue.

Oh well. that cursor speed is of the FCR radar cursor / TGP crosshair / HSD cursor etc… not that of the cursor of mouse.
For that sluggish mouse movement in cockpit, probably others can help. i myself haven’t experienced that. -
Ah, ok. That makes more sense that the configuration menu is for the radar/TGP/FCR cursor. Now I wish I could figure out why my regular mouse cursor is sluggish!

What are your system specs?
-
HP Pavilion DV6 Notebook PC
AMD A6-3410MX APU With Radeon HD 1.6 GHz
4 GB Ram
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bitThe game itself runs smoothly. It’s just the mouse cursor within the cockpit that is sluggish.

what is your frame rate inside the cockpit when you slew around?
also running in windowed mode decreases performance too.
-
Have you tried going to your control panel and increasing the mouse speed? might work, or not.
-
I can manually increase it by using the on-the-fly speed setting in my mouse hardware, but I was wondering if there was another way. When I go to external views, of course, it whips around all over.
-
Yeah, my mouse speed is already at full speed in the control panel. I’m not sure how to display the frame rate. My keystroke says the input is Ctrl-Z : R, but I’m not sure what that means. I tried holding down all three buttons, but it does something with the radar instead.

Any solution?

Press ctrl-z, together. Release, press r, alone.
For some systems this doesn’t catch, for some reason. Perhaps keyboard layout or something. Then you can reassign the command into something else. I have both kind of systems, and I use ctrl-f ('f’ps). -
In the bms config file in beta settings:
set g_fMouseSensitivity 1.0 // 3D mouse sensitivity multiplier
I have no idea if this could help or if it works, I’ll leave that up to you as I have not messed with it

This works. I always felt the mouse was too slow in cockpit. I set mine to 2.5 and it seems about right now.

What is responsible for this low value?
I dont know if it has some significance, but when i playing the FreeFalcon 6 the Fps value being 60 and with this value the movements are pretty smooth!!
EDIT1
OK! I make some changes in configuration menu. Finally i succeed 30+ fps.I make the tweaks from hotlist of Arty, but i did not see any improvement…
My system is AMD A8-5600K APU with Radeon HD Graphics 3.60Ghz, with 4 GB RAM, Windows 7 64bit.
If someone knows something to help, i will apreciate to share with us.:D
