Hands on switching between ACM/CRM ?.
-
If I may, I suspect different things happening for independent reasons. But I’m glad this is being discussed. Switching master modes and having radar mode changed in the master mode you return to is a very usual thing in my experience. Not necessarily because of OVRD, but sometimes in relation to it.
EDIT: OVRD added
-
Dose it get stuck in a master mode, or FCR mode ?
FCR modes
The master modes (NAV/MRM/DGFT) will switch with out fail ,but the FCR within those mastermodes does not always change to the default and randomly ACM will not change out of SLEW (I hate slew) and 20,60,and BORE become unattainable.
-
Leech, I’ve also noticed the issue of switching to DGFT mode and RADAR immediately wanting to slew, oftentimes locking something up way off-bore even, whereas it used to go into RDR OVRD mode until you TMS Up’ed. I’ve already checked and there’s no cursor drift issue that could inadvertently activate it.
The issue mentioned with the OVRD mode changing FCR modes is shown in this video:
-
There’s definitely something wrong with ACM. I’m getting this after going into dogfight mode:
After slewing it a little, it goes into a correct Slewable ACM, but the default is something strange. It looks like it went into boresight mode (should be 30x20 NO RAD), except with the oddly placed cross.

If you cant get out of slew, your cursor switch is drifting.
Please provide a video as I’am now confused of what your problem is. -

This is different from what x8quicksilver8x is describing. Nevertheless, you stumbled on a bug.
If your ACM mode commands slew without you touching the cursor switch, then the cursor switch is drifting. Been testing all morning. I cant see any other way. -

Yes , that is a bug. ACM mode defaults to ACM 30x20 NO-RAD upon entry. (noted)
As for the oddly placed cross, that is the BORE cross, when the FCR is slaved to the HMCS LOS.
No problem with this one. -
No problem with this one.
Except the small matter of me never commanding slaving the FCR to HMCS. BORE should, by default, look out in front of the aircraft.

Known.

Please provide a video as I’am now confused of what your problem is.NAV overide FCR in CRM
DGFT override FCR in ACM
This next picture is the problem. I hit ‘C’ to cancel DGFT override and return to NAV and the FCR is still in ACM requiring hands off (throttle and stick) OSB presses to return to CRM (the default for NAV) I would prefer it to return (CRM) with the override mode
The issue I had with SLEW was in fact due to cursor drift but was a seperate issue to my OP fixing the cursor drift fixed being stuck in SLEW for me. If the cursor is moving apparently the FCR will not switch to the other ACM sub modes. Thanks.

Here is a video I just made. I’m switching between modes, and all works fine.
The only way I can get the NAV or AAM mode to change CRM submode other than RWS, to change CRM to ACM, is if I do it manually.
Are you using the stock BMS key file ? -
(side note, not in that case but overall, there may have been a confusion between override as air-to-air specific mode, and override as OSB button. The one that brings problems to me is the OVRD OSB button).
