Fullscreen UI
-
Hi,
I have got BMS running Fullscreen when i enter 3d mode but when at main menu it is in a small window. Have disabled fullscreen optimisations etc and set resolution in game menu but cannot get UI to be larger.
Straining to see anything on campaign interface.
Help appreciated.
Cheers

You are running BMS in windowed mode (btw the recommended mode) but in that mode the 2d UI is fixed to 1024x768. No way to change that.
-
I am running it windowed yes but it is not even 1024 resolution. it is possibly less than 640x480 size and stuck in top left corner of desktop??

It is 1024x768 as this is the hardcoded size. Are you running 4k?
In windowed mode you could set the in the cockpit Display extraction either set a position for the 2D to be displayed or enable border to be able to drag and drop. -
2560 x 1440 here so may be apart of the issue. Thanks for the help, i will give it a go and see how i get on

In Windows 10 (don´t know on older SO) there is a handy option to increase size (zoom) by using WINDOWS KEY+ Key"+" on the Num key on the right
This way it will (by default) zoom to 200% and movable by the cursor. You can change a bit some options of this W10 feature, but stock config works well to just see BMS UI
To return to normal, just use WINDOWS KEY + ESC
As a workaround I hope this will help.

I have a 2560x1440 resolution monitor so my 2D window (at 1024x768) shows up in the upper left quadrant of my monitor. In config I have enabled “cockpit displays to external windows”. I have tried activating Border in Cockpit Display Extraction for Main 2D to be able to move it around. The tickmark for borders is set and I choose Save&Exit, but no borders appear and I cannot move the 2D window. Any ideas what could be wrong ?

Hello jayb,
I centered my 2D window within the “Cockpit Display Extraction”.
You can easily calculate the numer to shift the 2D window left ((2560-1024)/2)= 768
Same applies for top if you wantI hope this helps.
Have a great evening,

Edit: Wrong attachment; ups -
Thanks Tweety, that doesn’t make the window moveable by dragging though as far as I can tell. Really strange that borders and thereby movability can not be set

How can I get BMS run in windowed mode ?
-
Either add -window to your shortcut. Or enable it through the display extraction from the launcher.
Just read your BMS Manual and BMS Technical Manual that comes with your installation in install folder/Docs

Hi jayb,
Sorry I missed the point that it should be movealbe as long as you’re in 2D.
Hope it helped anyway
Have a great day,

Hello,
Every time i open Faclon BMS, it doesn’t want to move to my second monitor…
I know this sounds like a stupid question but does anyone know how to remedy this? Thanks
-
@LucasDogfight in game setup, change settings to windowed…
Once done, move it back to borderless…
-
@Dougall I’ve tried most options, and settled on the following simple remedy…
While in UI, click
SETUP, GRAPHICS=FULLS SCREEN, OKWhen ready to fly
SETUP, GRAPHICS=BORDERLESS, GRAPHICS, OKTime taken 5s x 2.
