[BUG FIXED] Crash when activating IFF OUT
-
Hello, please find hereby a bug relative to IFF Out and DL loop activation.
In the meantime, I have to say that you guys from Benchmark Sims team made a huge work. Thank you so much for the new improvments both on graphical setups and in the sim :o.
Version
4.35.0 (x64)Build
22548Detailed Description
When activating IFF OUT on this very TE mission created by myself, BMS systematically crashes.
One SEAD package, I fly as a leader.
Short after take-off, I push Uniform 6 to initiate DL loop.i do not know if it can help, but BMS crashes on both cases : with and without RTT client.
Bug not reproductible on original 4.35 training missions.
Pictures
Please, say me which picture could help ? What do you need ?
Example files
Crash logs
*.dmp file : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Z2kJHcKjedUsQ95iwpwCFqBSbGLlzqAg/view?usp=sharing
Reproducibility Procedure
1. Launch TE above
2. Take-off as leader
3. Check Data Link setup on DED via ICP
4. Select “Cont” with OSB 6 on MFD Left (FCR)
5. Push IFF OUT on TQSExpected Behavior
IFF OUT button initiates Data Link loop without crashing BMS
Thank you for your help.

Good report, thank you! Was there a dmp file created that matches the crash.txt file?? If you could provide that (link to a could shared file perhaps) that might zero in on this one even more quickly.

Hi Boxer and Dee-jay, thx for the reply.
I updated my first post with *.dmp file (google drive link as it’s a 120 MO file

Interesting. So the dmp reveals what’s causing the crash and coding a way to stop it crashing looks simple. But. The really interesting question is the data in memory getting into a state that leads to the crash…shouldn’t happen by the look of it. And the really fun part?? Looks to me like this is the exact same code that was in 4.34…which so far as I know doesn’t have this problem. Anyway, we have a line on what’s going on…just need to figure out the best fix. That’s the update for now.

Thank you for the quick analysis and reply Boxer. If you need more infos regarding my setup, it will be my pleasure to provide the relevant infos to help you.
best,

Hey, by any chance, did you delete teams while you were doing your TE ?
I believe that’s what’s causing the problem for this particular TE, the IDM code appears not to be robust for that.

^^ which is also to say we think he fixed this problem so it’s in the queue for the next update.

Salut Crusader,
yes, I did :). I’ll avoid to do it until the next update as a “good practice” ^^
Thanks,

Yeah that’s a suitable workaround. Code should be fixed soon.
