Logitech replacement rudder pedals for HOTAS Cougar setup causing cursor issues
-
The wire frayed on my TM rudder pedals so they were not working. I replaced with a set of LogiTech rudders I bought several years ago. BMS recognizes them, but the issue is I’d been using DUNC’s DX setup and the HOTAS calibration app. The calibration app does not recognize the LogiTech rudder pedals although BMS does. The rudders work in taxi mode but what does not work is the radar cursor which is set to right left toe brake.
The HOTAS calibration routine fails because it will not recognize the rudder pedals.
So even though the rudder pedals work in the sim the radar cursor is non responsive.
In setup Advanced Options there are four options for cursor X, I have Right Toe - Saitek Flight Rudder Pedals (3) selected and the Left toe for cursor Y.
Hoping there is the LogiTek while I look for a TM rudder pedal setup. Thanks in advance for any potential advice.

Quite easy fix
1. set Cursor X and Cursor Y to Keyboard
2. set left and right toe brake to keyboard.
3. You should now be able to set your toe brakes to toebrake axes and cusror to your cursor axisBasically if an axis in BMS is assigned it not available to be assinged to another input. You have to “release” it first. In the dropdown menus on advanced setup only axis that are “free” are shown

Oakdesign, thanks for the reply but 1) doing that and starting a TE I have no cursor control and 2) using the HOTAS calibration software, it errors off at the rudder pedals as there is no recognized control for them. Question - do I need to use the HOTAS calibrate routine?
Thanks, -
Cant answer on that as i don’t have an cougar. From your description i thought it was only a wrong assingment of axes on the BMS Advanced setup screen

If you no longer use TM rudder they should be off in the Cougar config panel. Example
Or are these Logitech pedals actually connected to the TM hotas ?

USB connection so not into the joystick . Cannot view your attachment. Comes as invalid.

Unsure whats wrong with that as i see image when click. But anyway it sounds like your are trying to use a TM program/tool for a separate non TM piece of hardware which is wrong. When you run the CCP there should now be red X ON A GREY BACKGROUND for the rudder and both toe brakes. Then in avioncs/advanced the cursor is assigned to Toe brake left and right of TM hotas cougar.
In the CPP GUI I have microstick X selected under column 7 and y under 8

Did this and the cursor moves but no left movement after a manual calibration, so guess I’m stuck waiting on my replacement TM rudder pedals from ebay I ordered earlier. Thanks for the input tho. Appreciate it.

Ok well hopefully you clicked apply after any changes you made. I strongly suspect you have a very simple issue. Good luck with it.
PS be sure to use the supplied viewer to quickly see what axis is moving and with what assignment.
edit to earlier post [[COLOR=#333333] When you run the CCP there should now be red X ON A GREY BACKGROUND ]
