X55 woes
-
Ok. So I got my x55 almost perfect - for me.
Now the issue…
Somehow I’ve managed to map a command to my default
Mode 1 switch…I only want to use the UI…not the saitek software…
Is there anyway of clearing this command in game rather than reassigning it?
Btw…it’s currently mapped to trim down…which is a real pain!!

If I recall, you have to reassign it to something else. I would reassign it to a default command in BMS that does nothing. Why not assign the button to something useful?

Welcome to the ‘X55 Woes Club’. As a full-fledged member, I can attest to an awesome controller once you get past the learning curve of unique issues. Many good posts here in this forum to help.
To address your current situation, I did not see you mention making adjustments in your BMS ‘.key’ file. If you have not studied up on that, I would suggest doing so. I have found that using the in game control setup for key commands can do some odd behavior, like setting random controller presses to commands. I do all of my key mapping to the ‘.key’ file for switches and buttons. The rotaries set up fine in the BMS controller settings.
My settings for the Mode switch in the ‘.key’ file are:
SimDoNothing 14 8 -2 0 0x0 0
SimDoNothing 15 8 -2 0 0x0 0
SimDoNothing 16 8 -2 0 0x0 0 -
Thanks for the replies. Setting the mode buttons to sim do nothing sounds like a good idea (assuming this is an option in game controller set up page?)
I’ve read and 're read the whole key file messages and info like a dozen times and still don’t get it!!
I’m using a key file I downloaded…can’t remember exactly where from but it’s called rhinos.key…

Have the mode switch on mode 2, then enter the controls screen, select a misc key option or your chosen function and then flick it to mode 1 to enable? I have not tried that but in my head it works lol try it…

Thanks. That’s exactly what I did end up doing and yes it works as you assumed.
