Seems you’re trying to load textures that do not exist…
What theater are you using?

KTO……

Installing on a server? (Or a virt with no directx gpu and/or audio device?) Or anything else unusual about your rig?
Did it work for a while then start failing? Or never able to get 4.35.0/1 up and running…
searching for SetupAsRenderTarget… I see some very old threads indicating possible data-corruption in log files. seems a bizarre place in the code to crash, parsing a log file, but … I probably don’t wanna know
If it was working for a while and suddenly started failing … backup your current directory, and reinstall fresh. If that succeeds, you can diff/merge your key files, cfg and ini files over, one by one and either enjoy success or learn what’s corrupt.

Quick comment…
I have a feeling your GFX card isn’t DX11 compatible… You should check you specs…
-
Yeah… run DxDiag.exe and tell us your vitals, on the ‘Display’ tab

It doesn’t say what you gfx card is…
type dxdiag after using win + r key combination

Post Win7 SP1 there was a “mid-life update” lol that changed a lot of the directx graphics layer … I think I heard that is now required, for BMS 4.35. (I don’t know what the symptom is, if you don’t have it… maybe/should be an error at install-time. just throwing ideas out there.)
-
Windows 7 is end of life and your PC is getting to its last days if you don’t upgrade it soon…
Not sure you’ll be able to fly BMS in a year or two…
-
Yeah on the Winblows7’, vid card is Nvid GT740 specs sez support up to DX12….
-
Still just grasping at straws but your CPU is on the older side … in another thread, one of the devs mentioned this cfg setting
set g_sCpuPerfOptimizations "none"
which will avoid using any of the newer generation SSE instructions.
Worth a try (add that line to the bottom of your ‘falcon bms.cfg’ file)

As your usual, a great remark and hint by you this one, dear airtex.
So, my apologies in advance for this noob question of mine, but I’m always curious by my nature: and how would that command line be written, if I would maximize my installation’s performances according to what my ‘almost state of the art’ current CPU allows?
Or is it not necessary at all, in this case?
Sorry for bothering, and thanks a lot in advance, mate.
With best regards.
-
Since 4.35 some microcode extensions embedded by CPU are being included in BMS.
This line can remove or add those instructions sets.
Cheers

It’s a fair question – I don’t actually know what the default is. I think setting it to “all” is the opposite of “none”, but not sure about that either.
(the default should probably be adaptive – viz. probe the CPU for necessary SSE instruction support, at startup… or install-time? and then adapt accordingly… but maybe that’s harder to do than it sounds, I don’t know)

I can confirm that this is the solution. See also here:

Hey Peep’s,
I can also confirm that the https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/…0-838f7be8d9f6……MLCU (MidLifeCrysisUpdate) WORK’s!!!
For those of us that are older, stubborn, stupid or just plain paranoid of Winblows10…!!
Now back down my “Rabbit Hole” to further exploit the advantages of DX11 and the new DB…TeHee!!!This community still rocks:headb::headb:
Thanks,
